It is very ingenious how you have solved fitting the mast to the kayak, simple and effective. I have seen your progression in solution for the rudder, and is absolutely great... By the way what´s de size of the mast and the main sail and where did you buy it, one more time Congratulations!! Glad you liked it! It was an IKEA parasol base, but I'm not sure if they are still selling the same one. A timber plank with a PVC flange-socket works fine as well

@@b.b.2506 hi, you could buy this kayak from Decathlon (the sports shop) or try looking on Facebook marketplace if anyone selling used ones. It's called Itiwit (2 seater). There are 3 models : 1 seater (shortest body), 2 seater (in this video) and 3 seater (longest body)

How did you make the mast? Sleeves and bungy - was it an off the shelf item?

The mast was taken off an inflatable dinghy sail kit, but honestly it's just 24mm OD aluminum tubes with 2 ferrules to connect them together. Everything else was made from hardware store materials. It takes time to mix and match your kit, but you'll have to get started to see what fits for your application. Most importantly, don't cut corners when it comes to material strength or how you secure a part. No 2-part Araldite gluing or double sided tapes, only bolts/nuts/ropes/rivets when needed.

@@rogersyme1368 don't forget to have at least 3 x stay lines front and sides to support the mast. Inflatables don't have much structure to hold a tall mast 😂

This was too much oversized 3.7m2 🤣🤣 in 12-14kt winds, I capsized!

For this size of a kayak, 2.0m2 would be just nice for a person with 60kgs to cruise

Don't put carbon on your kayak, you'll get hit by lightning.

@@davorjelekovic6487 good point, but in Alicante we probably get 2-3 days of rain in a year, so chances of getting struck by lightning is close to zero. However, there is a higher chance of getting hit by a car when riding a bicycle on the streets 😁 By the way, the mast was aluminum, not carbon. The tiller stick is carbon.
