He speaks truth here. From 2016-2021 I saved half of everyrhing coming in. Then my family came running with hands out. I caved and "helped them. Savings depleted by 20k. 3 of folks I helped crossed me. I finally said I'm done. So been saving half again since then-sometimes more. Recouped losses, added even more and set firm boundaries. Right about needs and wants. I cut out almost all wants. No car. Getting rid of annual fee credit cards, two subscriptions etc. Doing real real good. I will try the 5% splurge for my second checking account. Good idea. Thank you.

@@MamaHarperr Thank you for those understanding words. Had been no contact for years. Sprit said go back. I resisted but obeyed. Went back with open mind, open heart and open wallet. The wallet ruled them and ...... Sprit said I sent you back not to reconcile but to SEE them who they really are. All guilt, shame and anger drained out of me. The wallet, heart and mind are now CLOSED(to them). God has other plans for me.

I do have enough savings that I can pay it off, but I like the idea that my job will pay and I can save my money and put it to good use. I am 6 years in to my government job. I would payoff my debt in full, work on a 3-6 months emergency account, invest 10-20% in the S&P 500 every time I get a paycheck and work buying and paying off a house using the 33% rule

Wow, 10,000 in 6 months? I make only $250.00 or so a month for savings. I'm trying to collect 100 of the ones, 100 of the Fives and so forth. Right now, I'm onto the 50's. So far I have 67 of the fifties so far. when I complete 100 of each denomination, I will have $18,600. It's going to take a while now because the Apt complex is charging almost 1/3 more for every little thing that the apt can use against us to make more money!
