nice video, but sadly it doesnt apply to most people in Nigeria. in my case my monthly expenses (rent, nepa, diesel, insurance....) is 90% of my salary. so saving 50% is impossible. Also saying in a half year you saved 20k US is not much..... Most people in Nigeria don't even earn 1,000 USD a year. so yes, ot is a looooot of money, in fact you can buy like 20 plots of Land for it. Also puting money into an account that gives you 20% interest, when inflation is above 20% means you are losing money. better buy something that increases in price, like real estate

Fastfood stocks are often overlooked but if you look at the trend especially during the pandemic. A lot more people bought fast food. I believe that people will come to rely more on ready-to-eat meals. So I'll definitely be adding fast food to my portfolio.

I watched your channel about a month ago by accident while browsing Financials. I’m I glad that I did! I live in the diaspora and it’s absolutely refreshing to see a Nigerian covering all types of personal financing education on the home front. You are going to touch so many lives in a very positive way, so please don’t ever stop what you are doing. A kind suggestion though, after watching this video: make links to some expanded videos that actually goes into depth of some of the topics you covered, I.e. investing in stocks, show how the platform works, explain some basic trade terminology etc., Finally, always let your viewers know that whatever kind of stings of income they choose, the mindset should always be looking at long term results and benefits. There is a terrible flaw when we think of quick of ‘To good to be true’ schemes.

Historically the stock market has always gone up, even after crashing. Regarding ETFs, the S&P 500 has strong performance. Investing in stocks for companies within the S&P 500 is a good, safe strategy. However, it's important to do your research on the individual company, especially on the qualitative side (the company culture, will this company be profitable in 10 years, is this company innovative, etc). Great video! Just a suggestion: I think it would have been better if you went for more dividend yielding stocks than for growth stocks. If you invest in a company that gives you dividend you can earn extra money passively. Apple gives dividend so does Walmart, Pepsi, and AT&T. Google, Amazon, Tesla and Facebook are growth stocks. You won't get extra money from them. You only get a gain when you sell those stocks at a higher price than you first bought them. Just thought I'd let you know 😊

Thanks. I did a bit on investing last year but later focused on growing my own personal portfolio. Mostly did Airline and a bunch of tech stocks but never really paid attention to dividends. Would read up on these ones and more to add to the portfolio. Maybe even mention in another Finance Friday episode. Thank you.

@@FisayoFosudo You'll find dividend investing interesting. It's always so exciting to earn extra money every month from your investments. There are amazing companies that till date haven't missed a dividend payment. Some companies increase their dividend pay outs after a couple of years. It's just super awesome passive income! I advise you to look out for companies that have a good history of paying dividend without decreasing the dividend payout. There are some investors who have such a large portfolio that they literally live on the dividends. Since you're open to investing a handsome amount each month, it'll definitely worth your while. Have fun! 😊

I used my smartphone's mobile data as hotspot with my laptop. This means that for me to use Internet on my laptop, I had to also (always) use internet on my phone since it usually updates things itself or downloads stuff. With a modem, I can choose to not connect my phone and exclusively use it for the laptop or use it for the phone for a shorter time.
