Skipping dinner then not tipping is wrong. The servers at dinner are the same ones working at Cabanas for breakfast and lunch. So even if you aren't in the dining room those servers are still working for you. Like you said tips are their salary.

Not in agreement not to go to the main dining. They are great service there and you get to know them on a personal level. I recommend going to the main dining. Totally worth it!

There is an onboard baggage checkin for the flight back home.. Check in the bags with guest services n collect them at your final airport

Opihi808 hello!! And nope you don't pay extra for them :) I've actually heard rumors that the main princess meet and greets don't require tickets anymore, just Anna and Elsa still do. Check with guest services on day 1 just to make sure though! Hope you enjoy your Alaskan cruise. We were supposed to do one of those this year :) maybe next time!

We've never been on the dream! The fantasy is the exact same ship though (besides a few decorating details) if you google your room number there are sites where people put up pictures of that room. have so much fun!!

Mills Girls The service was superb. On another note: after we went snorkeling in Castaway Cay.. I dropped off the gear in this disinfecting soaking tank, some random guests walks up to it and grabbed a pair of snorkels and headed towards the beach with it. I guess you can file that under "not recommended" saving tip.

Regarding skipping rotational dining and avoiding the tips. I have mixed feelings as it does not seem fair to the server. They are allotted so many people to serve and count on that money whether you show up or not. I figure the tips are part of the cruise faire and budget for it accordingly. I consider it part of a cruise vacation.

I just finished a cruise with DCL and the best way to get free water is going to a DVC. It is about 45 to 1 hour long but they give water at the beginning. There is no obligation to sign up or anything

Be careful with swimming with dolphins. We tried what you said and the cruise line blocked the time when we were in port. We would have to pay the same price. It wasn't DCL but another cruise line. Just be careful and find out before.

If you want to save money, you shouldn't be taking DCL in the first place, as it costs maybe 50-100% more than the other large cruise lines.
