Yes, I hope it works out for you. Try growing it in a mound next time. That's what I read works best, if your soil conditions aren't the greatest. Some people recommend as high as 1.5 to 2 feet above the ground level. Good luck!

I don't where you got the ideo to grow avocado from cutting? It is rarely successful even under nursery propagation conditions like misting and high oxygen conditions. You should have grafted it.

It was a last resort as the tree was already dead, grafting likely would have failed as well. But, ill keep that in mind for next time. Thank you!

Can this be done anytime of the year? I need to do this now to 3 citrus trees, it’s middle of July and in 90-110 degrees in my NorCal climate.

The best time to transplant a tree with root rot is during the dormant season, which is typically in late fall after the leaves have fallen or in early spring before new growth begins. This timing reduces stress on the tree and gives it the best chance to recover. Right now might be a good time to propagate the tree just incase the the transplant doesn't work. I have a video on that if you need help. Best of luck!

Ugh always propagate if your tree is sick. I lost my Carmen hass avocado a month ago and it will be a long time before I can get some more budwood .
