For y'all that don't understand, there are bots going around Islamic stuff on KZbin and commenting "I am your sister from Yemen" and scams you by telling you to donate to their WhatsApp. Hope y'all are informed and don't fall for these scams!!

I think it’s important to note that “fat” or “sameen” here probably refers to something different than how it’s commonly understood today. It can mean someone “having some meat” on them as opposed to being excessively skinny/boney, not obese with a huge belly (which was looked down upon at the time of the Sahabah, I believe).

Fath bari explaining Bukhari says otherwise . It’s clear as sun . Aisha at 6 was skinny and could not handle consummation so she got fattened up like a chicken until 9

I think it's written as "تعالجني" i.e. عالج يعالج معالجة which means "to cure" جزاك ﷲ خیرا کثیرا

I do not think so , if used it that context it doesn't make sense ,perhaps you should look into it ?
@OmnipresentPotato

That's a typo in the text. عالج here does not make much sense to use. Besides, any book of Hadith has it as تعاجلني.

The ل looks like it came before ج But according to context it should be تعاجلني

@@__M.._U...S._..L..I__M May Allah bless you all I have rechecked it and found the ل proceeding ج, same as here in this video (تعالجني). And this meaning is totally according to context, think of Hazrat Ayesha (May Allah be pleased with her) of being cured of thinness / weakness. Like when people, especially children, are skinny or weak, they are taken to doctors in order to get them healthy.

Is the type of cucumber "bacor" in Somalia, it looks similar to cucumbers and light green(unlike the uk ones), bit like the one in the Hadith. Although when cooked its similar to pumpkin.

MashaAllah great summary! What’s the function/meaning of verb form III? I thought it’s an action done to one another, but here it means to urge?
@OmnipresentPotato
@OmnipresentPotato 2 ай бұрын
This is a misrepresentation of the verb form. While, yes, it is commonly used to indicate transitivity (i.e. a verb being done by multiple people to each other), more often it indicates a longer period of time. For example, قتل is to kill, while قاتل is to fight, since it takes longer to kill in this case, and it becomes transitive in this case because it must be that we are both fighting each other. قطع is to cut off, while قاطع is to boycott (which is to cut off for a longer time) but this does not necessarily mean that the other person is boycotting me. We saw earlier how the third form can apply just to the subject rather than both the subject and the object. Similarly, it can apply to the object rather than the subject. For example, رأى is to see, while its third form رائى is to do something in order to make someone else see you (basically flexing). Likewise, عجل as a verb means to hurry. In the third form, عاجل, it would mean making someone else hurry, which is basically urging. However, its meaning is weaker than the second form أفعل. For example, if you use the verb رائى, it doesn't necessarily imply that the other person does actually see the thing you make them see. However, أرى (to cause someone to see) which is in the second form has to imply the other person saw. Similarly, أعجل in the second form (to cause someone to hurry) implies the object here must have actually hurried, but عاجل just focuses on the subject's effort without clarifying whether they were met with success or not. This also applies to قاتل for example, since it does not have to imply that the person doing it actually killed the other at the end, but rather just made the extended effort. Another thing, for example, is the tenth form استفعل which is usually explained to mean seeking something. For example سقى is to give someone to drink, while استسقى is to ask for drink. But this general rule does not apply for cases like قام (he stood straight) and استقام, both of which hold very similar meaning. This is why you actually never see these 10 verb forms being taught for actual Arabs. Most of them, even the very learned, haven't even heard of this classification before.
@sameerislam1422
@sameerislam1422 2 ай бұрын
Wow this is helpful, thank you for clarifying the subject matter! Can that mean form III may also give the meaning of trying to do an action (because of the extended time or effort of an action)? Like: Aajila - to try to cause someone to hurry Qaatala - to try to kill Raa’aa - trying to make someone see Sorry still learning Arabic, so this is helpful. Thank you again!
@OmnipresentPotato
@OmnipresentPotato 2 ай бұрын
@@sameerislam1422 Exactly. Again, verb forms aren't as strict in their meanings as other common templates (for example فاعل "faa'il" always refers to the person doing the action, in every single case), so while this is a good general rule, don't expect it to apply in 100% of the cases Anyways, may God ease your journey in learning!
