I have had great results with the Read aloud feature built into Google Books. it works with ebooks and pdf files. Hopefully that helps.

I have written several children's stories and have them in manuscript form. In order to submit to a publisher online some say send manuscript in PDF form, will this work for me to send multiple pages of a story to them through my phone or can I also us my laptop. I'm having trouble I used your message what's the picture looks perfect when I scanned the page in my book but when I went to print it out it was really dark. Great tip, fast and useful scans however they are not a true copy of the original. A true copy in pdf format is available while using the android camera app on my S10+. It is slower to capture and requires that one wait for the scan icon to appear while framing the document. On my phone it says that it will be stored in "documents" but then I often can't find it on the phone's file app. There is no option to name the file when saving.

Once you've taken the picture, navigate to Filter. There you can greyscale the document if the app did not auto detect this.

Thanks for the tutorial, but the quality of the scan compared to scanbot app is not so good. I don't know why Google is not investing on the capture of the image.

Scanbot is a more Premium offering and work great when you need that extra bit, however, for the majority of scan work the built-in features and quality of Drive are good enough for most. I also prefer having one less app on my device. I found that changing the colour after scanning or adjusting the trim can do a lot to improve quality. Thank you for sharing your experiences and I agree that Scanbot (for Education) has some neat features. Also it's cross platform, but comes at a cost.

When I hit +, the scan option is NOT there. Instead, there is a "use camera" option, and I can't figure out how to get anything other than useless jpg files! :( I'm using an iPhone, btw. Anyways, iPhone has another option; use the Notes app.
