So does the car need to be plugged in for the “pre conditioning” to work?
@CyrusYareff Жыл бұрын
The key has no precondition button. And i tried manually staring the climate control in the app but that didn't do anything. Not does the window defroster in the app. I don't want to use the schedule, my schedule isn't that consistent. I just want to hit a button like on my volt. I'm frustrated

Hello. I followed your video. Set departure time for 7:45 am and charging time starting at 9pm for cheaper electricity. I went to see how it works at 9:07pm. The car is blinking green. The charger shows waiting status. So I went back to delete the overnight charging I set under the name ‘Home’. It dies not show up in the car!!!! Under location nothing shows! Any suggestion you have?

So will it remain to charge the vehicle while the climate control is on it’s scheduled time?

Did you buy a Level 2 EVSA adapter so you can charge at 220V or is the Level 1 EVSA sufficient? How many miles per hour did the Level 1 charger provide? Also do you need to have the key fob in your hand to unlock the charging plug to your car or can it be removed without the key close by?
@DavidHamby-ORF-482 жыл бұрын
Key can stay in your pocket as long as the aux battery is good. Level 1 circuit provides 4-5 miles range per hour. If just commuting locally, you can defer level 2 until funds permit. Renters, take note. Just be sure level 1 outlet is not on a shared circuit as car will pull 12 amps.

Does the ID4 uses a heat pump. Or how is it that one can keep the car to stay warm during cold days?
@DavidHamby-ORF-482 жыл бұрын
Heat pump cabin heating in cold climate countries. Canada yes, US no. Check refrigerant label. R1234yf used in US. Have heard CO2 R722 used in cold climates.

Can I plug in charger without starts charging straight away
@EVTipsAndTricks3 жыл бұрын
yes. Use the schedule feature and depending on your state of charge it can be made to not start right away. All this is still a bit buggy from all the conversations.

Can you control the car temperature from your phone?
@EVTipsAndTricks3 жыл бұрын
Yes. I can pre heat/cool the car before starting using CarNet.
@prettyhatemachine1013 жыл бұрын
@@EVTipsAndTricks Do you find CarNet to be very slow sometimes when trying to set climate? Sometimes it will take 2+ minutes in a greyed out screen before I get confirmation notice that climate has been set. Sometimes it's much quicker (but never instant), and sometimes it just hangs on a greyed out screen and never does anything. I wish CarNet had more functionality and better reliability.

Unfortunately this is not working in my ID.3. He is ignoring a 80% limit or is starting to late, so that the requested ending time is not keeping. Sometimes he even don't charge because the software is hanging. Many bucks!

Sorry to hear about your issues. VW definitely have a lot of improvement they have to make!

Same here. Most time it just charge 66% or 70% even that I have set the charging to 80%. Hope V2.3 will fix this
@reck86023 жыл бұрын
My frustration came from not setting a departure time. I just wanted to restrict charging to between midnight and 6am. But apparently, if you don't set any departure time at all, it'll never actually start charging. So I set an every day departure of 9am. Seems to be working now.

1- How can the traction battery also be pre-heated ( a separate PTC heater?) before the departure? is there another separate schedule? 2- How can the battery be heated and kept in the right temperature range in -30∘C while running in between high speed charges legs?
@jh5kl3 жыл бұрын
if you press the control bar used for the volume and temperature but you use 2 fingers, it will set different functions, its like a short cut. another thing, i don t know if the id4 has it, but many tiguans had a function where if you click to close the cargo door, it will give you time to take cargo from inside, it detects when you leave and it will only close the cargo door after, because if you have heavy luggage, its not easy to stand on one feet to swipe to close, but i don t know if this is in id4
@EVTipsAndTricks3 жыл бұрын
That is interesting about the cargo door.I will try it! Thanks.

In the US, this works now with the 3.1 software update. If you have ChargePoint Home Flex that is scheduled to avoid high tariff rates (ie only allow charging at certain times), you need to do this to ensure that you charge at the maximum rate. The trick is to activate the charging and climate on the VW after you set up the schedules. Nice Video!

You opened my eyes with this one. I was using what you referred to later in the video, scheduling climate through the climate control section, and was baffled as to why there were only two scheduling options available, with no way to add more. At least with the method you showed me here I'm able to have 3 options for schedules for each location! So cool! Hopefully they'll do an OTA Update that allows us to add more complicated schedules, like leaving work for lunch in the middle of the day, etc.
@EVTipsAndTricks3 жыл бұрын
Overly complicated software design, right? I wish it was more straightforward and as you said, more flexible scheduling.
