Really good explanation bro. Its one of those techniques that can never be mastered imo. You just gotta keep doing it. I tried reverse layer before and it aint easy lol. Would love to see a breakdown on that bro. 💪

Thanks for watching bro. I hope this has helped. This scissor over comb video was mainly how to refine a hair. But scissor over comb can be used for many purposes like i.e reverse layer, thinning, texturizing, tapering etc. But I can make another episode and show more scissor over comb techniques. 👊🏼🥢 Respect again my bro 🥢✂️

I agree. Reverse layering would be a great tutorial as there’s not much on KZbin that I can find.

I’ve been cutting my husbands hair for 10 years. I’ve got the fade down pat. Now that we have kids I feel like I’m starting from scratch; learning to cut with scissors because they hate the buzzing of the clippers.. thanks for the video it was easy to follow for someone who has never gone to school for this kind of thing

Probably the best scissor over comb tutorial I have watched explained really well 👏🏻 Like how you explained what area you are cutting ie between the clippers and scissor work no one has explained it before sometimes as a beginner we don’t know what we are cutting and just do the technique. Plz Keep doing more of the barbering breakdowns would like to see the reverse layer technique as mentioned. Perhaps one on removing corners after scissor over comb or high guard would be good? Keep up the good work ✊
@BarberJase3 жыл бұрын
Respect bro Thanks for watching. removing corners and high guard are techniques that are not needed for every haircut. Just a LSB step on checking your work which should be done anyway when looking to refine your work and checking the shape. 👊🏼🥢 👊🏼🥢

Fabulous tutorial Jase. One of the best so far. Can I just ask - when exactly would you use the guard skipping technique? Or do you use it as you feel like it. To me it looks like a great technique to use when you have limited space to fade. A masterful SOC tutorial. Such a smoothly-blended final result.
@BarberJase3 жыл бұрын
Fabulous. I use different techniques because I get bored just using 1 way. I can get the same results by using different techniques after practising but find one that suits you. Or master them all then you will truly understand the art of fading, which is what i am trying to do. 👊🏼🥢

For a self cut, ascending guards would be better to blend bulk then scissor over comb or clipper over comb correct ?
@BarberJase3 жыл бұрын
For a self cut I agree, I would not advise scissor over comb or clipper over comb. I would definitely use a higher number guard to blend. Thanks for watching brooo! 👊🏼🥢

Thanks for the reply brother. Also, I sourced an old school 1 guard off eBay for guard skipping. But the technique did not work that well for me. I had problems blending out the 1 guard line. I’m an old dude witt salt and pepper hair so my hair is tough to fade in general. I’m able to get a cleaner fade using the 0.5 guard..Would love to use guard skipping though to save time. Any recommendations ?
