The fan motor with a razor blade you can cut that fine copper windings off. A lot of times say on a over head fan for a stove. You don’t even have to pull the motor off just the windings.

I always wonder about vacuum, scrappers always cut the cords and run. I know there is a lot of plastic but, the motors aren't they worth something???

Yes vacuums are worth something. 2 things. Take the whole vacuum cut the cord and throw the rest in light iron. Or take the cord, wiring and motor and throw the rest out. I take vacuums apart and resell all the used parts. Typically I can turn most vacuums into 100 bucks average. Ebay all the parts
