Abrogatuon does not mean stopping water immediately but it does allow India to calibrate flow according to Pakistani behaviour. We can tell them to vacate POK and remove non locals from there if they want more than survival-level water in Punjab , Sindh. We can tell them to maintain only a constabulary, not a military and we will give them military guarantees against Iran.

The headwork on Chenab is at Akhnoor and not at Rajouri. Ranbir Canal is on the right bank, which goes towards Jaurian / Pallanwala and the Pratap canal on the left bank and goes towards Jammu.

Chin+ Aab = Chenab means water flowing from China, which is not its original name in Jammu province where does it flow. Two streams of water submerge in Kishtwar, know as Chander and Bhaga. So older people still use and say Chanderbhaga instead of Chenab.

Chandrabhaga. Chander Jatinder Gurinder nahi. Chandrabhaga is the original Sanskrit name, whose reference is strewn across our Puranas. It is indeed the river created by the joining of Chandra and Bhaga. Chenab is a later day corruption of that original name. Notuing to do with either Chin or Aab.

I am wondering if you can provide additional clarification, please. Article 4 of the Law of Treaties (LoT) says that that law is not applicable retroactively, i.e. to treaties signed before 1969. Since the Indus Water Treaty (IWT) was signed in 1960, what would let us use the LoT to abrogate the IWT? Thanks.

VERY IMPORTANT POINT-- Sir, just a few weeks ago, on channel of Fakhar Yusufjai, a very known senior journalist Waseem Altaf was telling that in 1965 war time, then PM of India Shastri ji had ordered to open gates of Bhakhra Nangal dam and one more dam in India so that its water came into Pakistan with so much speed and huge volume, that all the fields in Punjab and cantonment sites alongside the rivers were flooded and the Pak army had sustained huge damages. This had resulted into immediate surrender by Pakistan. He also told that, since then the Pakistan govt. has made this a thumb rule to bar India to build any more dams on its side of rivers. How do you see this version of Waseem Altaf? .... Although, he is a reasonably good and fair journalist.

I have gone to detail hydrology of total Indus basin, Ist india explore all tributaries or small rivers mainly jammu reason like Tavi river second construct a Dam in upper catchment of chinab and linked to Ravi river down of chamera dam. India again prposed a comprehensive irrigation project in Kashmir valley with the demand of Kashmir valley farmers. Third option is make a integrated life irrigation project in ladakh reason through solar energy installation by local people without direct government involvement.

Chenab does not flow through Rajouri district at all .From Jammu district it enters Pakistan ( Akhnoor ) .Both of its canals are not supported by lifting system, but it is gravity only which helps. Don't misinform if you are miles away from actual knowledge
