If allowed .... this is how to scrape the tires. Karting as well. Some tracks do not allow any tire cleaning.

If gooey rubber hits the floor, wd40 will make it come off fairly easy.

What happens if you don’t wrap the tires? Do they become slick(no grip)?

Yes they start to turn blue and get hard from the oxygen in the air.
