How to Sculpt Mini Clay Pumpkins!

Elizabeth shows you how to sculpt mini pumpkins out of polymer clay.
Here's what you'll need:
- Clay (orange and brown)
- A work mat (or piece of paper)
- An x-acto knife (or butter knife)

- Silicone dowel tool with ball ends (or a pen works)

Baking Instructions: for the brands Cosclay & Sculpey clay bake at 275F (135C) for 15 to 30minutes depending on the sculptures thickness.

hello, whats the best way of keeping the clay cool whilst i model the earrings as i cant seem to be able to keep the shape of the ridgs as i mold the clay

Hi! Sometimes if the clay gets too soft I pop it into the fridge or freezer for a couple minutes. It may take a few tries to find the right amount of time to put it in depending on how soft your clay has gotten but hope that helps!

Thanks! I have. I took a bit of tin foil, wrapped the clay around it, shaped the pumpkin, then cut the facial features (& the top portion) from the side of the pumpkin, baked it, then removed the tin foil via the top opening.

@@miniezshop How did you get the top to fit back on, I have 3 pumpkin houses I made and for some reason, I just can not get it to fit right, Using polymer clay, , I am trying to figure out what I did wrong, used plastic wrap to fit then it does something while baking, ughh lol, it if fun to try different things :) I really enjoy your videos, so glad I found you :)

Sorry, I didn’t get a notification for this reply 🤔 Hmm, I think I baked the pumpkins with their tops back on and then carefully pried them off with an x-acto knife after baking. I might’ve also put a thin piece of tin foil between the opening and the top while baking. (It’s been a couple years since I did that, hence the trying to remember what I did 😅). Hopefully either of those ways helps! The brand of clay could make a different too as some expand/shift more when baking 🤔 Glad you’re having fun with the process/experimenting though!
