How to seam carpet in doorway with koolglide

This is one way I seam Carpet in a doorway. The carpet has a row of yarn that is a dark line and one row light line. These can be quite tricky to not get the Same color to line up in the seam. If someone has a better way of doing this please share!

I have been laying this kind of carpet for years now. It is basically pattern , and it should definitely pay more. And it seems like all of them are like that. Or it's the dotted kind with the scalloped edge

Yes they are. Especially if they have some pretty bold colors. They really show up if they touch two same colors

Straight edge one side and trace over on the other it should work

I heard that a serpentine straight edge works good for this type of carpet to better hide the seam

First, I’ve always row cut those. I would have cut it earlier. I noticed that you made it against the grain. The most important thing you said was Should this be considered a pattern? It is something I have been saying for years. I Do charge for pattern. What I said to the store was if they paid the extra, then they wouldn’t have had to pay me premium to fix other installers jobs. ***Not all jobs are necessary! Property management and Ghetto jobs don’t care. I wish more conversation about this happened.

Normally if I’m doing a hallway with the bedroom I cut the hallway prior to stretching. Unfortunately, we had to lay the hallway living room one day then come back to do two bedrooms. I did not want to leave cut seams unattended as I knew they would step on them and smash them up moving furniture out These types of carpets don’t always run a nice easy row as this one did. Stores should recognize That manufactures do this and it takes longer to install

Ok so when you get to the ends where your row cutter doesn't cut what I have done for years is turn my knife to where the top blade is cutting/following the row fron underneath. Works really well

it is sealed. After I cut the seam I mentioned I forgot to plug the glue gun in. I had to wait for It to heat up. I skipped filming this
