Nothing is concrete here but some examples I ran into include... Marketing Manager (trade show vendor's final decision maker), Director of Human Resources (holiday parties and employee recognition events), VP of Sales (sales meetings), Catering Sales Manager (lend ballrooms to clients at hotels and country clubs), Conference Services Manager (venues), Executive Director (final decision maker in control of budget for association conferences), Executive Director (final decision maker in control of budget for non-profit galas)

but where would i find these job titles? on job websites like monster, or by applying with the event company itself?

There are some standard titles like event planner, event manager, e.t.c but many companies don't use these titles despite having a job description that could fall under these titles. If you're looking for an event related job, look under these titles but also check under marketing assistant too. Job sites and event companies typically have them listed under these titles but you may need to do extra searches to find a job (and title) that suits you.

Sooo, when I'm perusing for these potential jobs, to gain experience, are they temporary, as needed, or FT/PT? I understand getting the experience but when do you decide something is going to be long term or a flop, or just a one time gig?

HI Carla, in this video we're providing alternative job titles to look at that MAY include event planning tasks/roles. There's no guarantee they will so it's important that you read the job description before applying. As for whether or not they're FT/PT, etc, there's no way for us to know that. It's up to the hiring company to decide what they need so you may need to look at both when doing a job search, if you're open to both options. As for deciding whether it'll be long term or a one-time gig - that's up to you. You need to decide if you want to plan events as a hobby or as a career.
