I bought size 8 flathead screws, 2.5 inches long. I also bought anchors that are 2 inches long, size 8 as well. This has done the trick. I have 2 of the 3 cabinets safely attached to the wall. I am mechanically challenged and I presumed that I didn’t understand what to do. Thanks to quite a few commenters that said the screws were to short to anchor the cabinet to the wall. Man, IKEA cabinets are a lot of work.

Thanks for the video. It helped to clear up a few things. . I was particularly interested in the walls spacers and how they assist in attaching the unit to the wall. The screws that came with my cabinet were shorter than the depth of the spacer contraption. So, I couldn't figure out how this was supposed to act as an anchor. It's odd. I put them on correctly, and the screws just for of hang within the spacer, not protruding. I put the square caps on the washer inside the cabinet and they just sat loosely there, all ugly. The kit had no drywall anchors as you showed in the video. I ended up taking some molly and putting them threw the spacers as you showed you did with the anchors. All good, but some of the least obvious design I've ever seen from Ikea. Also, there's no cover/cap for the other anchoring holes in the back that you find in the wider cabinets . So I took the buttons that are meant for capping the bottom holes when wall mounting and glued them inside the cabinet to the holes in the backboard. Yet another odd move from Ikea. I suppose I could've looked for walnut grain stickers.

I know I'm 3 years late with this comment, but the longer screws that come with the Besta frames are for securing one frame to another frame, not for securing to the wall. I'm guessing IKEA doesn't include the wall anchor screws because there'd be no cost effective way to include a screw for every situation (drywall anchor, masonry, wall studs, etc.).

Where did you get the screw to adhere this to the wall at 5:48? I can't find it anywhere in my ikea supplies.

It's not in the kit from Ikea. I used a plasterboard plug and got a long screw to it.

I used screws 6 cm. Plasterboard plugs have to be plastic because you won't be able to put the screw inside. I bought the screws and plugs separately, they are not available as sets.

Does Ikea really expect the average person to do all this? I know what a hole saw is, but the last time I used one was probably 10 years ago.

Thanks for the video . I have a question are the 6 cm screws long enough to go through the cabinet and the spacer and still have enough length inside the plasterboard to secure strongly to the plug?

Hele nuttige video! Bedankt.

I just bought 3 units like this one and has no ide it had to be fixed to the wall as it’s very wobbly if it isn’t This video made it absolutely clear that I WONT be able to do none of that as a single mum. I usually don’t mind IKEA furniture but these units are HELL for someone like me - with no man to help and obviously no possession of any of the tools required and even if u did I could never do what the video shows … Makes me infuriated that they’ve designed something like that 😡
