At our Minnesota fishing shack we pump lake water for cleaning. Drilled wells in the area have a significant risk of arsenic contamination which is difficult to treat. We only drink lake water after we have boiled and filtered it. There is also a public spring on our way to town which has excellent drinking water. The spring water is free but the flow rate is too low to fill an IBC tote in a reasonable length of time. There is usually one or two others filling jugs at the spring whenever we go. Thanks for the video !

Is the plan to get a well drilled, or do rain catchment, eventually? water hauling isn’t terrible, if you’re driving by the filling station normally anyway, but I can see it getting old if it’s a long way away😳

Well eventually is the plan and Rainwater catchment asap.

@@offgridroadrunnerranchI saw a video once on the rainwater catchment with filters. It was quite simple but worked

I believe it's a 1 1/2 inch gas water pump from harbor freight

Why is your holding tank black?
@offgridroadrunnerranch2 ай бұрын
It's black to stop the sunlight from getting to the water and growing algae.
