I had a color analysis in the 80's but looked good in so many colors we didn't pin it down. Knowing I am a Bright Winter who can also wear some Bright Spring colors changed everything. Biggest thing was Knowing White is great, creams wash me out...

Brilliant. This really helps an untrained eye “see” these color distinctions. Comparing soft to clear, cool to warm etc is going to change my shopping for best colors. Thank you. Also I think it will help in my watercolor hobby as well. Haha

Totally agree on neutrals and especially camel - which makes my face look like a bowl of oatmeal! I've heard people say 'there's a camel for everyone', I'm open to trying, because it's beautiful, but I've yet to find one that didn't make me look like a non-entity. Maybe I'll run into a cool taupe someday that will work. But for now, I'm happy with my black, super white, and charcoal gray, (and navy sometimes. I love it; but it's much harder to find, and I'm not ready to change over all my blacks to navy.).

I can distinguish between warm and cool on obvious colors, but sometimes have trouble telling the “warm” blues and purples (I’m a True Spring, and this palette has a fair amount of blues and purple/violet shades, which I love). However, my warmth is my dominant characteristic, and I can borrow some Autumn tones as well. I’m in the process of developing my own unique palette from mostly Spring, the Autumn tones I can borrow, and the few Summer tones I can crib also.

Sometimes these are considered universal colors: teal / turquoise( has green and blue in it) Salmon pink ( has orange and pink in it.) periwinkle ( blue and purple) and red ( because it can lean warm or cool) . Whites can lean warm or cool. It’s an interesting subject. 👍🏻🌈

I think they're terrible colours, especially teal and salmon pink, yuk!
@deborahmichele16 күн бұрын
@@luluandmeow Yeah I don't agree that they are universal. I mean, why wear a color that makes me look OK, when I can wear a color that makes me look great?

I find that no one mentions how lighting in the stores affect the color of the clothing being sold. How can you choose correctly if the lighting is warm (yellow) or cool (blue white) ? Have been surprised by purchases when I got home thinking I had the color I was looking for, seeing it in natural lighting. Any ideas on this? Thank you.

I love when u do videos about colour thank u ❤ Can u please address in a future video what to do when u don't suit colours that lean very warm AND very cool. I have light medium skin but my skin looks best in reddish colours like softer reds, terracotta orange & dark muted guava-ish pinks. I havent seen any colour analysis channels address skin that finds harmony with rosy colours instead of warm/cool. Am i just an odd one out or is this more common?

tough to transition to grey..used to have auburn hair now almost white!
@NadaManley15 күн бұрын
That is the hardest change to make. In one of my recent videos I said that I generally recommend that redhead and ladies with auburn hair keep their natural color because it’s such a tricky transition. Often you might find that gray is hard to wear with the warm tones that you have. I’d love to hear how it’s working for you. Thank you so much for the comment!

As you age your best colors can change as your skin tone changes.I still look great in bright orange, yellow, and chartreuse, but not gold.

I have a camel colored cardigan that I love! Your advice says that's probably not my best color, but I always wear it with a white shirt, so I think that helps. The white collar/turtleneck is what's next to my face. But I'm wondering now whether I should do bright white or soft white?
@NadaManley16 күн бұрын
@@melissazabower339 if camel doesn’t work for you you probably suit bright white better. I would have to take a look to know for sure, but that is most likely. I have a couple of camel coats that I adore, and I do the same thing usually wearing them with black, however so that the black is closest to my face.
