The Zecca - Righi funicular
Built between 1895 and 1897, it constitutes a connection between the city center and its hills.
It combines the function of connecting commuters with the tourist aspect: on this trip the rapid change in landscape is striking. We start from the city center, in the middle of the traffic, and arrive on the hill, at the beginning of the paths that lead to the ancient forts of the city and where the panorama is unique.
The line is much appreciated by hikers, cyclists (bikes are allowed) and families, who treat themselves to a trip out of town. Worthy of mention is the Madonnetta station which opens onto the Sanctuary of the same name, inside which there is the perennial Nativity scene with the reconstruction of scenes of life in medieval Genoa.
Affected by important works to replace all the electrical drive and automation systems, the Zecca-Righi funicular reopens to the public on Wednesday 25 August 2021.
Since some maintenance activities still remain to be completed and will be carried out at night for approximately 3 weeks, the funicular will be in operation until 10.00 pm (last run).
At the same time as the early closure, the F1 and F2 replacement bus lines will be kept active from 10pm until midnight.

La funicolare Zecca - Righi
Costruita tra il 1895 e il 1897, costituisce un collegamento tra il centro città e le sue alture.
Affianca la funzione di collegamento per i pendolari all'aspetto turistico: in questo viaggio colpisce il rapido cambio di paesaggio. Si parte dal centro della città, in mezzo al traffico, e si arriva in collina, all'inizio dei sentieri che portano agli antichi Forti della città e dove il panorama è unico.
La linea è molto apprezzata da escursionisti, ciclisti (le bici sono ammesse) e famiglie, che si concedono una gita fuori porta. Merita una citazione la stazione della Madonnetta che si apre sull'omonimo Santuario, al cui interno si trova il Presepe perenne con la ricostruzione di scene di vita della Genova medievale.
Interessata da importanti lavori di sostituzione di tutti gli impianti elettrici di azionamento e automazione, la funicolare Zecca-Righi riapre al pubblico nella giornata di mercoledì 25 agosto 2021.
Poichè restano da completare ancora alcune attività di manutenzione che verranno eseguite di notte, per circa 3 settimane, la funicolare sarà in funzione fino alle ore 22.00 (ultima corsa).
Contestualmente alla chiusura anticipata saranno mantenute attive le linee bus sostitutive F1 e F2 dalle ore 22.00 fino a mezzanotte.
