Love Grady Hendrix. I did think it could have been cut a little as there were parts that dragged, but overall- fantastic. The ending fight scene was soooo much fun. I thought the family drama was perfect and very real. All of the Mark/Punkin section was freaking crazy, like a fever dream. Amazing 4.5 stars.

Finally Fished it didn't get much of chance to read this week, not from wanting too LOL .... what a Fantastic read! The book keeps you wanting to read more and more and keeps you on the edge of your seat, loved the cast of characters in the book for as many of they that there where you did not get confused or forget who was who. 5 Stars!

Glad you loved this one… I did too! 🥰 This story truly gave me the creeps. The family dynamics were legit and believable. I categorize this book as mixed genre: horror + murder mystery, and I’d say by the time you’ve finished the book, you see how the title works.

As a whole I loved this book. I burned through it which I rarely do. Usually a book will take me a week just cause of the time I devote to reading but this one took 2 days. I was sold all the way up…..until the arm cutting off. Idk. Seemed cheap and just in there for shock. That choice kind of killed it for a little bit for me, but he brought it back home by the end. Loved it all but just that one part haha

Just finished this book, and went searching for reviews of it, so here I am. Enjoyed hearing about your take on it. I really love Grady Hendrix because he's got a way of blending creepy, absurd, campy and funny in a way I find highly entertaining. I wouldn't classify him as a "horror" author, I guess 'suspense/thriller' would be my description. Rock on, Pupkin. lol...

I rated this book super low 😂. I LOVE Grady’s other books and so I was really disappointed with this one. I think I really just didn’t like reading from Louise’s perspective. Hope that’s how you spell her name 😂. I wholeheartedly agree that the title doesn’t work as well as the house on the cover is inaccurate as described in the book. Thank you for taking the time to give us a play by play ❤

Not a big fan of Grady. I only read Best Friend's Exorcism, but it seems his work always has some kind of corny gimmick, and his prose is plain and lukewarm. Cliche and stock with a trying to be cute plot bits that feed into pop culture far too much. Like eating a bucket of cake frosting is the best way I describe him. Maybe my mind will change with other books, but I dunno man.

Yeah I've been really ambivalent about giving his books a try. People say that he does a great job of mixing horror with humor, but I just don't see how those things are supposed to mesh

I will say the best one I’ve read is this one. Best friends exorcism was great to me. I will also admit, his other works to me are good but not something to write home about. Rather a good average, like B- work but still better than average. If that at all makes sense lol

I absolutely loved this. His writing is phenomenal. To read and make me want to smack the shit out of people…that’s a phenomenal writer. To shed tears and care about what’s going to happen to them. Yup this book is 5 stars to me.

Parents shouldn’t drive when they are the parents of main characters , it like an 90% chance you gonna die in a car wreck as a plot point.

I loved this book but there were times I felt like it was slow and drawn out. But if you push through the ending was worth it. 4.5 stars
