Excellent video for beginners. I was teaching my husband about books and your step by step is soooo needed. When you are use to doing this, you assume details and you covered most everything. The hard part is deciding on the beep which tells you to buy it vs. the keepa chart that says it hasn't sold much.... We came across a Bible that cost $14 and had sales at $240-450 with good rank and no primes for that year but newer years had $24 Prime but keepa charts said it had few sales. It was hard to know if you should keep it or put it back....You do awesome videos...

Thanks for watching! I am glad you are finding the information useful. It can definitely be hard trying to figure out which one to go by. If you only find info on specific years, I would try to go by the lowest one to be safe. Some books only have value if they are from a specific year, or edition. If keepa says that specific year has low sales, it probably does.

Nearly all the big thrifts are moving toward intentionally pricing books to eliminate any profits for sellers. The sellers who continue to grab up a lot of these books are the ones who love flipping books for a few nickels or dimes of profit.

Or, if there is only one cheap one, send it in anyway and price it as the other higher ones are and won't it eventually sell? What am I missing?

Hi. I am a novice at Amazon and started selling books (mainly used) because I read a lot myself so this is my passion in a way. I stock up on books at Charity shops and book stores, sometimes I get a lot of books for free from people who want to discard these books anyway. I always have a purchase receipt or invoice but e.g. when I buy 50-100 books at one time in a Charity Shop or book store, they usually issue a classic receipt or invoice where the final purchase price is. There are no individual books on the invoice. My question should I have professional invoices where each book (even if I buy 200 different books at once) is marked on this receipt? And should I upload invoices every time a customer buys a book despite selling it in the FBA system? Thank you for your help in advance and I apologize if this question repeats. :)

When you scan (either way) if you've found a valuable 1st edition, going for 100's of dollars or more, (most likely something that would sell to a niche market and not likely to show up on ebay or amazon) would it scan that way?... u'd just instantly see how valuable it is? I've been checking book values on AbeBooks, but it's so confusing! a book with the exact same isbn & the exact same everything else (1st edition or not, signed or not, dust jacket or not used or not etc etc) & the value is all over the board.

You basically have it right. You scan the books, then send them to Amazon to sell that way you don't have to store them, ship them, or complete the listings.

How do you know if an antique book is profitable? You cannot scan these.

You have to look them up by title, print date, copyright info, Etc.

I love all these bovines doing the scanning in the stores. The days of this are way over. The stores get it and price accordingly and people that really know what they're doing do not buy for FBA. Too much competition. But the bovines lap this get rich quick stuff up. Good for me because it leaves the actually sellable stuff for me.
