Excellent video for beginners. I was teaching my husband about books and your step by step is soooo needed. When you are use to doing this, you assume details and you covered most everything. The hard part is deciding on the beep which tells you to buy it vs. the keepa chart that says it hasn't sold much.... We came across a Bible that cost $14 and had sales at $240-450 with good rank and no primes for that year but newer years had $24 Prime but keepa charts said it had few sales. It was hard to know if you should keep it or put it back....You do awesome videos...

Thanks for watching! I am glad you are finding the information useful. It can definitely be hard trying to figure out which one to go by. If you only find info on specific years, I would try to go by the lowest one to be safe. Some books only have value if they are from a specific year, or edition. If keepa says that specific year has low sales, it probably does.

I have one question: Your videos or any other videos on the topic of selling books on Amazon do not address this one question: What happens to books that do not sell? For example, if I send Amazon 10 books and after a long period of time, only 8 sell what happens to the other 2 books?

Why on your TikTok video you said Amazon only keeps $1.00 per sold item when using a free seller account yet I’m listing my first item & they are showing me about 5 different fees that add up to $7.88. That is a HUGE fee difference from $1.00.

Nearly all the big thrifts are moving toward intentionally pricing books to eliminate any profits for sellers. The sellers who continue to grab up a lot of these books are the ones who love flipping books for a few nickels or dimes of profit.

I'm confused why you would lose money on some books. If you pay $4 and the lowest selling right now is $9.99 and others are selling at say $50, and they are selling fast, why not just wait for the cheap one to sell and then send it in? Or, if there is only one cheap one, send it in anyway and price it as the other higher ones are and won't it eventually sell? What am I missing?

Hi. I am a novice at Amazon and started selling books (mainly used) because I read a lot myself so this is my passion in a way. I stock up on books at Charity shops and book stores, sometimes I get a lot of books for free from people who want to discard these books anyway. I always have a purchase receipt or invoice but e.g. when I buy 50-100 books at one time in a Charity Shop or book store, they usually issue a classic receipt or invoice where the final purchase price is. There are no individual books on the invoice. My question should I have professional invoices where each book (even if I buy 200 different books at once) is marked on this receipt? And should I upload invoices every time a customer buys a book despite selling it in the FBA system? Thank you for your help in advance and I apologize if this question repeats. :)
@Raikenprofit
@Raikenprofit 4 жыл бұрын
You can certainly do an individual book break down if each book is a certain price, but if you are buying bulk you should be perfectly fine wigth a final receipt from the store. Just make sure you keep up with it for your records!

When you scan are you looking at used price or new to make a decision to buy? What condition is your threshold for a purchase? Thanks in advance.
@Raikenprofit
@Raikenprofit 5 жыл бұрын
It depends on the book really. Some can go for a ton in like-new/used condition. If I can list a book new like if it has a shrink wrap still attached, I usually pick it up. I try to pick books that are like new, they may have a few problems, like highlighting in a textbook, or a few creased pages, but the better the condition the more likely you are to get a sale.

@@camyrocks123 The Amazon Seller app is free. How are you paying $30 for it? Using the AZ app is going to cost you a lot more than the $30 per month for a real app. The AZ app doesn't show Average Rank or eScore (Days with Sales if you're using the Scoutly app, which I recommend). Here's an old but still accurate article about why you should NOT be using the AZ app for sourcing: www.fbamastery.com/this-app-might-be-the-worst-thing-to-ever-happen-to-amazon-sellers/

thanks for replying to my last comment... so just got to finish watching ur video & I have another question. When you scan (either way) if you've found a valuable 1st edition, going for 100's of dollars or more, (most likely something that would sell to a niche market and not likely to show up on ebay or amazon) would it scan that way?... u'd just instantly see how valuable it is? I've been checking book values on AbeBooks, but it's so confusing! a book with the exact same isbn & the exact same everything else (1st edition or not, signed or not, dust jacket or not used or not etc etc) & the value is all over the board.

So you scan these books with Scout IQ using a scanner which that software has some connection with amazon prices then you send them to amazon to ship them out for you or you do it yourself? Did I sum this up correct. This is obviously more complicated and tedious work of course. I'd like to try this out.
@Raikenprofit
@Raikenprofit 5 жыл бұрын
You basically have it right. You scan the books, then send them to Amazon to sell that way you don't have to store them, ship them, or complete the listings.

I love all these bovines doing the scanning in the stores. The days of this are way over. The stores get it and price accordingly and people that really know what they're doing do not buy for FBA. Too much competition. But the bovines lap this get rich quick stuff up. Good for me because it leaves the actually sellable stuff for me.
