When it comes to selling stuff: websites like gumroad or sellfy actually offer free plans for you. You just don't get the "pro" features although for a start the "free plans" are totally fine. 👍🏻✌🏻 They do take a Lil % though. (that's the catch for having the free account)

When you’re talking about artwork, which subscription plans do you need to have for each platform?
@VenusTheory4 жыл бұрын
Yo! Canva is actually entirely free to use and doesn't require anything other than an email. Beyond that you could use Photoshop which costs around $20/month I believe. You could also use a free alternative like GIMP as well for a bit more fine control than what Canva offers.

Thank you for the super helpful video. One question: Do you ever do anything to make software specific packs like for Native Instruments or Structure, Steven Slate, etc?
@VenusTheory4 жыл бұрын
Yo! Glad it was helpful! And yeah totally! I've done quite a few soundbanks for a variety of things but the majority of them have been packs for Serum for various companies as a contractor. Serum is generally the one you'll work most with as it's pretty much the most popular thing ever, so it's good to dust it off and get very familiar with it if you want to get into soundpack design!

@@VenusTheory Much thanks for the tips. One last one if I may: I recently read about protecting sample libs with iLok. Much experience with that and is it worth the trouble?
@TheGhostRecordsChannel5 жыл бұрын
Another helpfull video..and intersting too! But one question (and I know it's kinda strange) , but when you record those samples , do you ever have the problem when all your samples (or maybe some of them) are the same as the other packs you created? Because I remember that I downloaded few few free packs , and some of them , was too much similar or a copy of another pack I've already had , so I simply delete that , when I see a similar pack
@VenusTheory5 жыл бұрын
Yo! Well, in some cases I suppose that just comes down to the pack you're making. If you're making another like 'trap drum kit' there's realistically only so many variations on that sound aside layering with foley and such. So, I just try to ensure that whatever I'm doing ends up unique and by pushing myself to get more creative with each pack and the processing used to create the end result.

do you have any tips by protecting my sample packs by getting torrented?
@VenusTheory4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it's just part of doing business. I just place a small text file in all my packs encouraging those who do steal it to support me in the future if they're financially able to and enjoy the packs.

YO CAM! You know whats driving me CRAY! THE PAN LAW in these Daws. When making a DRUM SAMPLE "0db".. how are you going about this? When making the drum sample inside Studio One and then importing it goes -3db quieter?? Have you experienced this? I'm trying to have my Mono Samples coming in at 0db.
@astrologikalmusic2 жыл бұрын
If you're playing your exported samples via a sampler in a daw, make sure that the velocity is all the way maxxed out, otherwise you won't get the full volume of your exported sample.
