How To Send An Auto Responder Confirmation Email For The Divi Contact Form

This is a great plugin I use it on several sites! Question though. Can the text in the confirmation email be displayed conditionally based on how the submitter answers a question? Use case: depending on the submitter's zip code they input we'd like to send a different variation of the confirmation message.

The only options you have for dynamic messaging is using merge tags based on the answers they fill in the fields.

As a solution, I have setup a dropdown for submitters to input their zip code first the I present the appropriate form for them which will send the correct confirmation message. That works for this use case and is easier than adding an additional integration. Thank you for your reply!

Oh yes, nice. The only other thing related I can think of is that you could show the HTML field to inform them of something based on their selection in the form, but that would show in the form, not in the confirmation email.

@@PeeAyeCreative Correct, we need to send different confirmation emails. That means I have 3 different forms which are the same except the confirmation message. But, it won't be changing much so... It works for this use case. I was looking at sending the form entry to an email marketing platform and having that do the automated sending. However, this was quicker and will work just fine.

Another question about the plugin. I've been unable to get the custom javascript upon form submit to do anything, even a simple one line script. I must be implementing it incorrectly... Do you have an example of a script that will execute upon form submission? I didn't see one in the documentation. Thanks!

We added that when someone asked about adding code to execute a conversion in Google Tag Manager when the form was submitted. Other than that, I'm not sure how it would be used, but I think that is the main use case.

@@PeeAyeCreative Ahh ok. I'm trying to hide a text block on the same page after a divi form is submitted. I trying using what I thought is standard javascript code in the Custom Javascript box, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I'll look for a general evenlistener and try it that way.
