How to Service a Hozelock Easyclear in Pond Filter.

Another video from our 'How to' pond maintenance series. This one is on how to maintain a Hozelock Easyclear in pond filter. It covers the cleaning of the media and replacing the UVC bulb. A UVC filter helps to control green water in ponds. The bulbs have a half life of 6 months and so to be working at their best during the sunny months need to be replaced every spring.

I’ve cleaned mine and replaced the bulb. When i put it all back together water is still going through fountain but also escaping below the grey flow adjuster ring? I’m not aware of a seal or anything ? It wasn’t doing this before🤔 what have i done wrong?

Thanks for the video, looking to purchase one of these pumps replacing our old one. How often should you service these pumps?

The bulb needs to be replaced every year. I normally do this in the spring so the bulb is at its best during the worst time. The filter cleaning needs doing as and when it blocks up. How often it needs cleaning is dependent on fish stocking, sunlight and surface runoff. Thanks for watching.
