I'm surprised that only after 2 weeks...that I'm the first post here and is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Jeez, those things were/are so seriously cantankerous, unforgiving, and pains-in-the-asses that one wonders who did most of the work? The crew in the cab or those on the ground...probably both back in the day. As an Engineer or Fireman, you did both right? And didn't get any hazardous duty pay. God Bless those who took on this monumental task and walked away thanking God for their job and whatever "chump" change they made, but ya'll made this Country GREAT and I PERSONALLY want to thank you for your amazing / thankless / serious back-breaking efforts to run these iron / steel giants over the road(s), back in the day(s). POSTHUMOUSLY in most cases.

I mean, I’m just sharing what I know from doing it and the more you learn the easier you want to make the job. Usually it works out that if you do everything correctly then you have less wear and your job the next day isn’t as difficult as the engine wears out during a maintenance period.
