You use the same oil in the lower unit as you mix in the fuel? I didn't know you could do this (?)

Same brand name. Different weight and type of oil. Thank you for watching!

Where do you get those gaskets out to replacement?

I have the very same motor on my pontoon boat. Lower unit was full of water. I did a pressure test and it was not holding for long. I'm gonna change the seals but unsure if I should change bearings. They seem to be fine. It feels smooth when I turn prop shaft. Engine ran great and shifts fine before I took it out of water. I would appreciate your advice.

I am sorry to hear that. Thankfully I have never had that issue. Although with everything it’s always a matter of time. I’m no expert on this, but to me when you get water in your bearings for a amount of time it’s not good for them. It is a bit of a gamble in my opinion. They may be just fine for a year or two. Or they could go out next trip. If they are smooth and were not setting in water for a long time you probably will get some time out of them, but I would check them after every trip.

@@FishHuntCookTinker thanks for your input brother, I have decided to go through the entire lower unit and be sure it is done right.

You are welcome. That is probably your best bet. That will give you confidence on the water.

To be honest I am not sure. It has been on the motor since 1996 or so. I will see if I can figure out what it is and let you know. Thanks for watching!
