How to Set and Submit Page Items via the Javascript API in Oracle APEX

This video shows a working example of how to leverage the apex.submit javscript api.
The video begins by looking at a simple form where a user can enter various syntax's to query text inside a document. Next we create a dynamic action on a button. Inside the dynamic action we will execute javascript that will collect the users inputted search command, analyze the syntax and set a javscript variable for the search type. We will then call the apex.submit api, null out other page items, set a page item to the search type we identified with the logic above and submit the page. Once submitted the page will execute the query and return the result.
