I don't see any "Convert to Audio" among the choices after I added shortcuts. So what I did was screen record jujutsu kaisen opening song on youtube, then using safari I searched for convert video to mp3 after converting I downloaded the mp3 and it went straight to my file then I followed your garage band instruction and it worked, oh my gosh! now I can have any songs that I like as a ringtone. 🤩🤩🤩🤩

Hi, I downloaded your convert to audio shortcut. When I select the "send to" button, on the list this shortcut only says "to audio" rather than "convert to audio". when i click on it, the page for recordings comes halfway onto the screen then freezes and stays there until I darken the screen. Ios17 iPhone 14 pro max. I think this worked but it does not show up on my list of text tones to chose from. It just shows default when you click on sounds and haptics and to the right of text tone. Not in the list. Not sure why. Maybe Apple did that on purpose with iOS-17🤷🏼‍♂️

This video is a year old and I know that- but I have a thing that more people need to know. So when he clicks on the loop icon in GarageBand, he mentions that you can only import songs from a computer’s Apple Music. There is a way around this, though. First make sure your track is long enough so the song doesn’t cut off. Secondly, click on that loop icon thing (idk what it’s called) and go to the Music tab. Search for your song and click on it, then drag and drop it into your track. Boom. You got your ringtone, I think. (I did this on an ipad so I still need to see if this method works for IPhone Have a good day

Don’t know if you’re still wondering but after you do all of that you have to open it in a file because it doesn’t know which file to put the converted audio in, so just find or make a file then you press convert audio and put it in said file

As for edit and trim the music file can't you just do that in the photos app by clicking on edit? And then select that sound file as ringtone in settings.

Thank you! I ended up doing this a bit differently. I also used a KZbin video (it's an old melody you'll never find anywhere else), converted it to .mp3, put it in Apple Music, converted it to .ACC, put it in it's own playlist, synced ONLY that playlist to my phone (I hate iTunes/Apple Music) and then imported to Garageband from there. Obviously I used my Mac, but it's another method. It's a shame you have to jump through hoops to accomplish extremely simple things.
