Great vid, quick tip, always run .25" off the line. If u touch the line it progressively moves the line as you go. Thank you for the video.

Good video, nice work. ‘Plumb’ is the correct term for the perfectly upright, ‘level’ is for the horizontal orientation

Good video also the term level is primarily for objects that are in a horizontal position For vertical objects such as your post the word plumb would better describe your work like ok that is good now my post is plumb.

Is it ok to throw in some metal mesh or rebar like you would in a mixed cement post?

I found there are levels call 'post and pipe levels" that are small, have corners and straps on. No more holding levels. 👍 $8.95 at Lowes.

Is two bags sufficient for a 6ft 4x4 post? According to the concrete bag, as well as some people, they are suggesting 4 bags which seems like overkill/insane to me.

Great question! So it really depends where you are located as well as what type of fencing you are using and what for. Most of the time we recommend 2 1/2 to 3 ft into the ground but if you are in a part of the US where the frost depth is lower than that you may need to go lower also for gates and corner posts those need to be really solid so they can always be deeper and wider as well. We are always good with too much but not too little. As far as the posts we typically have an 8 ft posts so that you can go 2 1/2 to 3 ft into the ground and use it for a 5 ft tall fence but if you are going deeper than that you would need longer posts for example if you are going 4 ft into the ground and want a 6ft fence i would make sure to have an 11 ft post. You always want a little more so that you never come up short and can cut it down if needed. Hope this helps but also here is another video of ours to help answer this question kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYTNcmeep9ZpgcU

I use regular bags of concrete and put one shovel of calcium chloride into the mix and it kicks in about 20 mins. Much cheaper. It’s about 30bucks for for 50 pounds of calcium chloride (comes in granules like road salt)

Wouldn't the post be more stable with mixed concrete in the hole then setting the post? That way concrete gets in the center of the post too. You could even raise the pipe to the hight you want.
