How will I know which speaker is left or right? If I get speaker wires with banana ends do they have to be red and white or can they be any color? They sell blue ones at Best Buy but they looked liked they were for cars. My receiver already has the phono. Thank you.

Don't fully understand your question. Which speaker is left or right? -- I guess which ever speaker is on your left side or right side lol? Basically, each speaker is connected with a pair of wires, with one color for the positive polarity, and another color for the negative polarity. Usually speaker wires are black and red, or white and red, etc. Generally, Red is assumed to be the "positive" terminal, and Black is "negative". But depending on the brand of wire, they may be the same color, with one of the wires having a plus sign on it or some other writing to distinguish it from the other wire. The Color of the wire doesn't matter. The only important thing is that the "polarity" of the wire is consistent between the speaker and the amplifier. At about the 3:00 point in our video here, you can see our speaker has a red terminal, and a black terminal. If you were using, say, a blue and white wire, you could plug the White wire into the speaker's Red terminal, and the Blue wire into the speaker's Black terminal. Then on the amplifier, do the same: White to Red, and Blue to Black. Again, it really doesn't matter, as long as you are consistent.

I'm getting a Victrola Aviator 8-1 and I was considering buying Edifier R1280T speakers. Two questions I have... 1) will the speakers I'm considering be necessary or good enough? 2) Are the preamp and/or power amplifier you have shown be compatible to the Victrola record player I'm getting? I like the idea of reducing or cutting out the humming sound if I can. I have one more question that I need to ask you,is there a way or a compatible device that I can purchase that I can boost radio signals to get more local radio stations?

Just now seeing your comment, so I hope that you figured out your setup. For anyone just seeing this now: We have seen some of these victrola models and gotta be honest, they don't seem like a great choice. A lot of people get into vinyl for that great, warm sound, but I doubt anyone would find it with these budget decks. Like most everything out there, you get what you pay for. Just our .02, but a nice pro-ject, technics, or Audio Technica deck, plus some decent speakers will give better results. If you can afford something with nice, big woofers, you will LOVE the results.

Sure, just connect the speaker wires to the amp?? Y0u didn’t show how to actually connect the speaker wire to either the speakers or the amp, and that is what I need to know how to do! Useless!
