Great video. Why are finder scopes upside down?

I can do many nights of viewing on one set of C cells. It really depends on your slewing time vs your observing time.

I was interested in how the clamping bolt fitted as i find the meade instruction book confusing as to where the springs washers and bolts go. Its not 100% clear to my simple brain. But other than that good video thanks

Could you please state what the "Walmart" toolbox model # and dimensions are? The red lettering on the blue label look familiar but I can't see it well enough.

I use my telescope with batteries all the time. My batteries are good for several nights viewing. It is nice when taking your telescope to a remote location.

Thank you for the overview. I'm sure that you don't mean to suggest that only women might have trouble setting up a heavy scope, because there are women who are stronger than both of us. Setting up a heavy scope can also be a challenge for young children or anyone with a physical problem like lower back pain.

He was trying to be helpful by accentuating the fact that it's heavy! The majority of men ARE stronger than women! You don't have to choose to be offended by everything you hear. Even on a helpful instructional KZbin video for crying out loud!!! Get over yourself

Don't you mean 8 "C" battery cell?
@kevinh92628 ай бұрын
I was about to make the same comment. Yes, they are 'C' cells.

This is my first go to telescope. I have several telescopes in my stash. Isn't it true that even if the little computer thing goes on the blink or your batteries die that you STILL have an 8" telescope that can be manually moved around? I don't think it would just be a paperweight. Folks need to learn their way around the sky so they can find stuff on their own. Just saying...

is it equipped with an equatorial mount?
@Jean-rl9zu2 жыл бұрын
@@Alvaro_-sc1bj The one I have mounts on what appears to be a really heavy duty tripod. There are knobs to losen and sway the scope unimpeded so I'm guessing it isnt an equatorial base.

This was always my fear. So if the motor drive breaks you can still manually use it as if it was a Dobsonian? I'm looking for a smaller scope than my Dob so I can take it when travelling
@Jean-rl9zu2 жыл бұрын
@@rachelhiggins Yes! Just loosen the knobs that prevent you from easily moving the scope.
