I did this with my tank too. Love the effect and super easy to do. I got rid of the pulsing xenia because they kept trying to take over everything.

I’d forgotten about the marine tank!! Great to see it’s still going strong. And it’s good to see a tank after so long as quite often is content creators show a tank build and the viewer never sees it again (usually as the aquascapers only get it perfect for the one video but can’t maintain it!!)

Quick question, I have been looking to get into a marine tank for years - something like this would be awesome. I have always wondered, is there a reason for having many types of coral versus just a couple types or even no corals? As in, do the varied corals do something for the tank besides cosmetic/variation? My goal was always along the lines of a Lionfish without any corals etc and a nano tank with clowns - coming from a background of some African Cichlids and a Uaru/Discus tanks, I haven't had many attempts with plants, although corals are obviously different.

If you feed one polyp, does it feed the entire animal? Do the Duncans 'fight' the Xenia. A great looking little tank.

Looks like you are missing the 2 corals in the back that were near the glass (finger coral)? I can't think of the name.

Great video and series really making think about doing this as first saltwater setup:) if so can I have info on toxic corals as I’ve read about all to doings of zoas and so on and maybe want to no about any beginner corals that are not that deadly to us as they are :)

How did you manage to keep that wavemaker working? I cleaned when needed lol I have 3 and they all failed in the order of perched and it's the motor that's bad

Looks cracking mate. I've done all sorts with fresh water, but never ventured into a marine setup. Always fancied giving a 'simple' set up with xenia and GSP, but never bit the bullet. Maybe one of these days I'll do it

I would go for soft corals if its your first aquarium. A pair of clown fish. Or a six line wrasse would be nice .

Hi Mark - Love to watch your videos no matter what the subject you choose each time. I have kept fish ( Brackish and Freshwater ) over many years off and on also shrimp for the past 3 years but haven't jumped the fence to marine / reef. I have watched all your fluval evo vids but now Fluval has the Fluval 123 "Marine" tank out now. Would you consider doing a full review on this tank and your suggestions / preferences for the skimmer / powerheads and other necessary items you personally would use in this particular example. Would love to have your take on it before I dive in myself. I have read other people stating that the fluval skimmer suggested for use with this tank is useless due to the thousands of micro bubbles it produces and not very efficient. I'm sure Fluval with the popularity of your channel would jump at the chance to supply you with the tank etc so you can give your take on it. Thx Neil

Hi Mark. Do you have any advise. I have a really sweet Betta that has gotten one popeye, and he got one white lump on his side. It´s not fluffy, and doesn´t look like fungus. I have treated him two weeks with erythromysin, but it doesn´t seem to help. He is active and eating , but I´m worried. Thank you, if you have the time to answer.

Hii mark what exactly triggers the spawning behaviour of tetra? Is it a decrease in ph or simply a change in ph? ! My community aquarium has a ph around 5.4, (and its stable so my fishes doesn't seems stressed) so if i want to breed them should i gradually raise the ph of community tank until its 7 and move them to the breeding tank(ph around 6 ) or can i directly move them to the breeding tank from community tank and expect the ph change to triger their spawning behaviour .. At Evening water temperature is around 28.5 and at morning its around 26 sorry for my poor english

Once they've been fed well on live food and the water softened they'll be away.
