Nursing schools run through this really quick and nurses in clinical can too so you feel awkward asking or doing but run through these basic steps in your head and the medication rights and always ask for help (“can you make sure I learn hospital protocol on setting up IV bags, can I watch you then practice hanging xyz, this is my first time with all of this, I know it’s basic but you walking me through it would help me so confident doing it independently next time, etc”) and you’ll develop the skill in no time! Nurses should respect a lot of questions and be able to answer swiftly, and asking sooner helps you be a better nurse ❤

Yess! I agree! I always tell my students please come to me if you don't feel confident! I'd rather walk you through it and have you learn instead of you being too scared to ask and mess around by yourself, possibly harming the patient.

Main point is to clamp then fill the chamber. If you prime right there will never be any bubbles :)

Cause they have to drain it in your arm, why would they hook up an empty bag to a patient?
