Welcome to the very first how to video I made on " selling on Whatnot ".
I will be sharing more reselling tips in the future. In this video I share what I've learned so far about running a show on the App/desktop. I do a walk-through on my computer and phone alongside audio. Exactly what I was saying I don't even know how old this video is but às of today March 10th 2024 they still don't cover actually how to use there platform and also I don't know if there is a difference but I believe there is but when you all show how to add an item you all show where it says auction buy now or giveaway, when I get to that part all I get is create a page and there is no options on where I want the item, and my very first live I screwed up so bad that I had to end right away because my stuff I just loaded onto add or what I thought was under auction or buy now it was no where to be found whe on my live. I'm still having this issue and am going live at 7 pm est and don't know what to do.

Your best bet is using an IPad for running the live and your phone for the camera

I'm actually not sure if they've given a free shipping option yet. But if you set the shipping on the lowest weight and send the shipping label/packing slip with a nice note on it, that's acceptable!:) when you are creating any item, you have the option to select "buy it now", "auction" or giveaway!:) just like how I select the giveaways in my walkthrough, you can do the same thing with buy it now! Also if you have left over buy it now, you can clone them into future shows!:)

super helpful video!! Is there a way to stream a slideshow of images rather than holding the item on camera? Any tips? I am also a poshmark reseller so i have tons of photos of items i am selling so would rather create a slideshow while talking than rehanging each item

The listings have all the photos, so they can click on the listing within your live and see all the images! But I've definitely found that people love the interaction and appreciate the effort in showing each item on the live. Bags/jewelry and such are always really nice to have lots of photos of. When you pin an item, they can click and toggle through the photos on their own!:)

This whole video is just setting up the live, not running it. ❤ unfortunately. But you should make a test live/go live and run around 4-5 items to get the hang of things! You pin the item and after you pin it, you can either preset what the items will run for which is faster or set the price in real time! Also whatnot's seller academy should have some instructions on this now, I make this video a year ago. So some things may have changed!

Is there a way to put your list of items in order? I use a number system but they end up really jumbled and I'm looking for requests or the next number for a while.

I use my computer to find / pin the next item. I'll put numbers in the sequence I want them to go! usually if you stay in order it doesn't scroll up or down away from the sequence that you are in! You can also use the search feature to find the number that you're on/ type it in. A lot of people buy those numbers to attach to the hangers too!:)

Hi!:) if it's saved as buy it now, you should be able to edit and re-save as auction item. I don't think you can do it bulk! Whatnot is always changing things and this video is probably flawed in some ways now that they are always updating the platform.❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for this walk thru - I have onboarding in a few days for WhatNot as Poshmark has limited availability for shows, I am not waiting for them, so your video will be watched again and again until I have it down, I love Posh but the lack of the ability for all active sellers with great ratings, Ambassador I and II status, and fast shipping not to be able to get an invite for a Posh show is not ok, so I am going to WhatNot, and certainly will give that my attention over Posh --- unless Posh gets its act together on Bundles, Shipping Internationally, and the other glitches I am seeing in the Posh shows. So in any case, thank you again, I think you are doing Posh shows now so will look for your shows, and show my support of course!!!

I need to make a shipping video! Before you "generate label" you need to make sure the correct weight is in, click save, then "create label" if this happens! I try to individually weigh the item and always over estimate!:)

You can "clone items to show" from a previous show! Then filter by "unsold listings only"❤️

Try clicking "edit show" on the app and there is an add photo or video option there!:)

Your profile automatically keeps track of how many people are following you. Whenever you go live, encourage people to follow you! Also when you have a giveaway, in order for them to enter into it, they have to automatically follow you. But the most important thing is to stay consistent with the type of shows you have and gain followers that like your shows so they are more likely to regularly engage in your lives. Followers that regularly engage in your lives are better than having followers that never show up. There are many methods to getting followers. I would suggests opening the app and taking notes for what works for successful sellers and pay attention to things you, yourself might want to implement into your shows!:) it's a lot of analytics to it you yourself have to test. One thing doesn't always work for everyone. Just be yourself and consistency is key! Also maybe even ask a friend to critique your show and help you avoid or go towards things that worked!:)

Hey there I have no idea how their approval process works! I added every platform I sell on/Instagram and sent pictures of my inventory! Then promptly afterward I started using the app a lot and sourced a bunch of inventory from other sellers, started being a part of the Whatnot community. :) They seem to gravitate towards people with a positive outlook, who show signs of wanting to be an active member of the community? Just my take. But it could be as simple as them wanting more buyers on the app before they add more sellers? I have no idea. Send me links to your socials and I could possibly provide constructive advice? I'm no expert, but I don't mind brainstorming ideas for your reapplication.:)

Hi i’m a little confused my show is coming up and I don’t know what you do so I heard that you have to use your cell phone as a camera and your computer as the remote my question is so in my cell phone I press start stream and then what do I do with my computer do I press start show also?

On the desktop you do not start stream. Open Whatnot>click on top right profile icon>click "my livestreams" on the dropdown tab>click "open stream"> this opens the stream and store options. You do not click on anything in the video box other than mute the speaker icon on the bottom right corner. From this page everything is automatically connected and you just pin items/add items whatever you want to do is auto connected. Only tap "start stream" one time on the device you are using for the camera.:)

@@danielemunoz8438 You can actually do all of it from the phone as well but the computer just automatically works together with all of it :-) and it's just nicer having the computer so you don't have to be super close up on the phone and making the camera move around while you type on it lol.

Oh my gosh you should be able to create a new show and clone items from the old show to the new show! Create a new show with all the correct titles/categories selected and such. Then in the page where you see all the previous shows there should a be an option for "clone items to new show" or "clone items from previous show"

How can you setup your show on two devices. One to do your show and one to show your items.

On the seller dashboard (as seen at 8:28) on the video) click the "open stream button" this doesn't start the stream, just opens it! Now you are able to use the computer essentially a remote automatically while the stream is running.:) with the phone, tap on your show and click the "start stream" button! This will start the livestream/video and the computer will playback the audio you are streaming. So be sure to tap the speaker icon or turn the computer volume down. You don't have to change any settings or anything is just automatically all works together nicely.:)

"Open stream" and "start stream/stream from here" are two different things! There's no specific order really!

@@lillypadij6 If your items all weigh the same amount you could always make a listing and then just do quantity you need! that way the shipping profile is saved on all of them. You can update the shipping weight after, but if it weighs more, then you pay the difference versus the person being charged for it. So you really want to try to get the shipping accurate. So if you are selling multiple blouses or pairs of earrings or whatever you can just make a listing and then up the quantity to the amount that you need. But then you need to either keep track of which number is assigned to the item or right before you pin the item you can rename it.:)

@@lillypadij6 you go to "my streams> open stream" on the computer. Then have the volume turned down or tap the speak icon on the screen on the computer. Then open the phone app go to the live and select start stream on the phone when you are ready! As long as you do not click "start stream" on the computer, it will just work as a remote for the phone!:)
