Very helpful! Beautiful tank and frogs! My only tip though is your not suppose to use small pebbles like that because they can accidentally swallow them while eating but in the water bowl is ok. Perfect video!

Looks like she is using a rabbits foot fern in this setup, I have one in a 40 gal breeder paludarium I finished building a few months ago and its doing great, grows fast, loves t5 spectrum.

Like the setup but I wouldn’t recommend eco earth because the eco earth starts getting clumpy and decomposes fairly fast in the high humidity so I think u should use ABG mix from joshs frogs

With such a small set up like this you don't have a lot of space up top to add a uv light plus a heat lamp so a small heat pad would be my option if was getting too cold a temp

I have reverse osmosis at my house installed by culagen. It is a second fauset connected to a purifying system that you can take water straight from and drink instead of bottled water or jugs. =) It's very convinient to have!

this type of frogs are not arboreal, right? how many bumblebee arrow frogs does an 18x18x18 exoterra vivarium hold and is it a problem to keep these type of frogs in an 18x18x18 viv? are these type of frogs difficult to take care of. i have a 180 litre aquarium at the moment but i was wondering, if i converted it into a terrarium, would i be able to keep more than one species of dart frog in it? but even still ive heard that when tanks are too large the animals can find it stressful??

Okay I have a exo terra 12x12x18 and I bought a Zoo Med heat pad for it. What I would like to know is should I place the heat pad on the back of the terrarium even though it has a foam background that is probably 2 or 3 inches thick or should I place it on the side where there's nothing but glass?

i never thought to place fruit inside the enclosure as a meeting place for the flies. they will last longer inside the frog enclosre too. thanks for the idea!

I know I'm asking a lot of questions that's because I want to know everything I need to know about these guys but is there such thing as having too many plants in a vivarium for bumblebee dart frogs? because I've decked my 12x12x18 out! Pothos two types of ferns Ivy a big Bromeliad, Frog moss and some some forest moss and a Tillandsias is on the way. is this too much? I mean I cant hardly see the bottom of the vivarium. Im settin up a terrarium for 2 dart frogs in 18x18x24. I have 2 green tree frogs in a temp home in which i plan addin w/ the dart frogs. I'll use a humidifier 4 the terrarium & am wantin live plants/moss like u. Do dart frogs only eat fruit flies? How do i go about feeding dart frogs & tree frogs if my tree frogs R eating meal worms from a very small dish? will the darts want 2 eat the worms. What king of lighting care do i need 4 plants/moss (bulb&time). What heat source can i use 4 the frogs?

The vivarium actually will never have to be fully cleaned only some minor spot cleaning if seen all the frog excrement will fertilize the plant and as for the glass you can wipe it down whenever you see fit

Hi Jen! In this video you said it might be okay to house some dart frogs with tree frogs. I have a 75 Gal Tank and I did some research, joined the frog fourms and what not. I was wondering if could I potentially house Red eyed tree frogs with any type of dart frogs because they have pretty similar requirements right?

You have to watch them how they live and make test areas warmer than other areas . When figuring out the temperature for your area they'll tell you, either they need it to be warmer or not... : )

dragonspirit1185 I agree, but I'd still put one in but only activate it when you won't be able to spray daily, the same reason you might invest in a mistking and timer. Also worth noting, dart frogs _can_ swim, but you probably shouldn't make the whole bottom of the tank water or something. If they can climb out directly afterwards, it should be fine. Hello Jen and staff at LLL.. I am currently setting up a 46gallon bowfront vivarium for bubble bee's or blue azure frogs. The tank is 36"x19"x17" at the bow.. I plan on using the Exo-Terra compact large (4 bulb) light fixture.. Which bulbs would you or the staff at LLL recommend for a setup of this size? The Repti-Glo 2.0 x 4, the Repti-Glo 5.0 x4 or a mix of the two?? Thanks for any help you can give.

No body's mentioned it but aside from some things I saw wrong with this video I wanted to point out that you didn't rinse the potting soil from the plants. The chemicals in the soil would not be good for dart frogs. That and some other things I saw.

The plants we use are organic, as is the soil. There are no chemicals in our plants. Keep in mind what you think is "wrong" may just be your opinion on care. We breed quite a lot of darts :)

michaela2b If you set up the terrarium with a layer of Hydroton pebbles as a filter at the bottom, and your bedding and plants on top of that, it will help it stay much cleaner. And you should not "soak" it anyhow. If you don't soak it, it will constantly evaporate.
