I'm not sure anyone could use JetEngine without your helpful videos. So many parameters on the Jet elements (like the Listing Grid) are unexplained. Like under the heading Posts Query there is a repeater asking for Items, but no place in which to specify a value that you might query. What are these items trying to do? It's a mystery. That's just an example. Keep going.

@@Crocoblock That's exactly the area I meant, thank you. And the additional video link (Paul's video) and closer inspection of the BaliRento demo helped. I appreciate the pointer to the Jet Engine knowledgebase category of articles. But let's take this example: I wanted to know about the queries (Post Query, Term Query, etc.) on the Listings Grid element. So I went to the JetEngine document 'Listing Grid Widget Overview'. It links me to another set of documents called 'JetEngine Posts Relations'. The documentation never says it, but the query parameters are irrelevant because I was just trying to create an archive without including or excluding anything. (A great feature if I need it one day, but I don't today.) It was a lot of jumping around to discover I could ignore those parameters. I understand that Jet is a vast product to document, but as the documentation now stands, I find it hard to navigate.

Hi! Thanks for this great tutorial !! I have one question : How is it possible to add a relation between to Post programmtically ? Explanation : I've got 2 post types : Posts and Houses A connected user should be able to post via JetForms a Post and link it to a House. I didn't see how to link the post to the house directly from the form. I've created a field "Select" and "Fill Options From:" "Houses" to list the houses but it doesn't create the relationship between to 2 posts. I'm looking for a hook like "save_form" to catch form submit and add this relation parent/child via PHP. Hope it's clear enough. if it's not, tell me :) Thanks

Ok! Just find a the solution via the Facebook Crocoblock Community Page ! For users here : 1. Create a select/radio/checkbox field in the form. "Fill Options From:" -> "posts", "post type" -> "#your cpt" 2. Set this field in the "insert/update post" to be a "post meta" 3. paste the relations meta key into the empty text box...done! Didn't I can put the relationship meta_key in there!

Hello! We have a guide on how to achieve it: We can create a form for child posts and display it on Single template for the parent posts and it will have relation if we insert the relation key in the right field of the form. Please, follow this little tutorial: For ex. I have two CPTs - Producers and Events. I created a test form in JetEngine to add a new post from the front end prnt.sc/skbgv8 here, in the form, insert the relation prnt.sc/skbhax Here is the relation itself between CPT`s (One to many) prnt.sc/skbhpi Then we go to the producer's page prnt.sc/skbigo, Single template for the producer (if it is not exist, then create it either in the Elementor theme builder or in the Crocoblock theme builder) prnt.sc/skbiuu Display the form that was created prnt.sc/skbjr5 On the front end, fill in the form prnt.sc/skbkkr Check the result from the back end prnt.sc/skbl78 The key action is to set the One to Many relation here prnt.sc/skbmhb In case if further assistance is needed, please contact out Support team at crocoblock.com/help-center/

I'm trying to use Post Categories across multiple content types. I want to use the same categories throughout (I would love to use JetEngine taxonomies or Glossary, but the required Theme Colibri Pro, is neither Elementor or Gutenberg. And it will ONLY show Post categories. It's been very easy on Jet-Engine created customer post types, but I have to link ProfileGrid plugin to these categories also. Is creating a "relationship" a potential solution?
@Crocoblock
@Crocoblock 23 күн бұрын
Hi Dianne, Crocoblock is not compatible with Theme Colibri Pro and the ProfileGrid plugin. You cannot use the same category across multiple CPTs or CCTs; it must be unique to avoid conflicts. If you use JetEngine, you can link categories through relationships, but this works only with compatible themes and without ProfileGrid.

@@Crocoblock Ya, this is why I have created Users CPTs. When a new user is register a new User Post is also created with a custom field of user_id. So I linked between users auth to users CPT. So I create a relations between Users CPT to Events CPT (this is what I meant in the comment above) (I was inspired by I how usually develop the database in Firebase where you create Users collection for extra fields) The only problem now is to make the query. I want to get all events where the custom field user_id is in the list. For example: Event: Crocoblock meeting Users(attendees): Orel, Mike Every Users CPT has a custom field called user_id that is equals to Users auth user_id Is all clear now?

Very timely, thank you Paul. I'm working on a site right now based around "Fishing venues". Each venue can have multiple lakes and each lake multiple species. Additionally, each venue may have a number of accommodations. The relationships have left my head spinning - in my muddled head, the venue is the parent and lakes the child but, looking at your video, if my venue is your property and my lakes are your agents, then I've got that the wrong way around - which probably explains why it's not working as expected! Someone here mentioned that you could do all this without relationships, perhaps using repeater fields to list the agents - that would work BUT you need to consider how the site will be used - for example, you might want to look for agents and which properties they manage - the relationship method makes that straightforward but not so if it were a repeater field. Also, for JetEngine, in this example, if the Agent details needed a repeater field for some reason then JE doesn't support nested repeaters (which ACF does) which is another design factor. Can anyone explain to me in simple terms why, in Paul's example, the agent is the parent and the property the child?

@@Crocoblock Not 100% sure yet - I think they will all be CPT's so that they exist in their own right - this may be beneficial when it come to sorting & filtering results so, it maybe that the user's first, most important factor is the accommodation so they can see all accommodations, then filter my lakes & venues or any combination.

first: super tutorials, very good structured and explained in a very good sounding way. I am new to Jet Engine but familiar with databases. From my point of view it would be helpful to provide an overview, maybe a graphical one, to show how the construction works. Custom Templates, Taxonomies,Lists, custom posts and the relationship between them. I would appreciate a Tutorial with a database, that shows i.e. some Managements for for several property agents, the list of the agents and then the properties itself (to stay in your example). With other words: one more level on top. Best wishes

This is really helpful. One question I have; Is there a way to show %related_parents_from|post-type-slug% without having to use the Listings Grid module? For example to use the website in the video, if I wanted to show the name and a link to the agent from within a listing grid of the property itself, which would be used in the search results or 'related property'? Or would I need to have nested Listing Grids within one another just for a simple link to a parent or child?

Very useful video! Thank you for the info. For a current "pool" website I am working on, I'd like to have a gallery section. Ideally, at upload you can pick the colour (32 colours) and type of pool (18 pool types). Each pool photo uploaded to that gallery section would be displayed on a single gallery page with filters to sort through pool types and colours. The same photos would also need to be shown on the specific colour pages, and pool type pages. I can see how I would accomplish this by creating 576 (32x18) gallery posts for each combination of colour and pool type, setting up relationships between the Parent gallery and Child colour/pool types. But would there be a more simple way?

@@massibob2004 thank you for your explanation! Let's go step by step. 1. Firstly, you need to create 2 CPTs (job and workers); 2. Then, you need to create a relation one to many; 3. The next step is to add the needed posts to your CPT; 4. Go to the “parent” posts menu tab, open every parent post and assign “child” posts to it. This can be done in the Related Posts section of the right-side menu; 5. Then, you need to create a listing for your parent post and display data with the help of the Dynamic widgets; 6. Open the single template and add the Listing Grid and choose the listing you've created before; 7. Open the Post Query section in the Listing Grid and choose Post&Author parameters and paste the macro prnt.sc/1qji6ep %related_parents_from|job%. Please note, that instead of the "job" you need to paste your parent post type slug that you can find here prnt.sc/1qji9kd . After that, the needed post will display in the listing for parent posts.
