How To Set Up The Oregon Knapsack Sprayer (Unboxing | Lawn Care Shopping List)

In this video, I unbox the lawn care products I've purchased, as well as set up the Oregon knapsack sprayer, before giving it a test spray in my garden.
This is part of the lawn care shopping list video list (can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3jZmWaCmryha9E). The idea is to find all the products needed online to do your own lawn care.
I buy the same products and we can then go through it together - learn how to use and apply them together.
In this video you see me unbox the items (weedkiller, fertilizer, seaweed and the Oregon backpack sprayer). I then proceed to set up the sprayer by following the instructions.

I bought the 16L Oregon version of this and it’s great. You get better washers from B&Q, Screwfix than the ones supplied. Prone to leaks. Once I done that it’s been a dream

I've one the very same just a different brand. Sat in my shed 2years in a box. Took it out to follow along to this tutorial. Everything went well until I did what you said. You said to tighten everything up with a tool. I went to tighten the nozzle with a vice grips which promptly spilt the twisty connector part. It's useless now. Had to go in the bin. Down 30 quid thanks to your tip.

@@LawnRight good point! Well in any case I'm kinda glad it did. I'm not very strong and I'd find it hard to lug around 12ltr of weed killer. I think I'll get one with wheels next time. Love the vids BTW!!

I have been using the very light plumbers Teflon tape on sprayer threads and dielectric grease on o-rings. The two together lets you tighten things up fully, some grippy gloves help also. A drop or two of oil on the pump piston washer and your ready for years fun...!

@@LawnRight I have never had luck with that pear shaped plastic bit that is supposed to secure the pump handle when not in use, I need up cable tying it on.

I use three different sprayer and mark them up with a permanent marker denoting what they’re are used for so I don’t have to wash them out .

Thanks for taking the time to do this, really great work! Is there a good liquid fertilizer that could be put down with the sprayer other than the seaweed or would you recommend the granular like you'll be using? Looking for something that will be absorbed quickly as we have pets using the lawn throughout the day.

Hi there are plenty around. Even as do their ow liquid feed but you'll need to apply it more regularly than granular. Believe it or not I've never applied liquid feeds ever. Although I have considered it

@@LawnRight Cheers much appreciated. Yeah that makes sense, have enquired about a few granulars and although the suppliers say it's safe for pets once it's dissolved, we can't really keep the pets off the lawn for long periods of time.

Okay, just got an Oregon sprayer. Put it together and used it successfully. Love it. One question though Shaun and I really hope you can help me here because it’s driving me crazy. Whenever I use it the theme song to the movie Ghostbusters pops into my head. Doesn’t matter if I’m spraying my lawn or my rose bushes with it. I just start singing 🤷🏻‍♂️ 🎶 If there’s something strange In the neighbourhood Who you gonna call GHOSTBUSTERS!! 🎶 My wife and my neighbours think I’m going crazy. I think I’m going crazy. Any tips on how I can get rid of that tune from my head whenever I use the Oregon sprayer would be greatly appreciated. Desperate man here seeks help 😂😂

Hi mate, great vid as usual. You said you can use the weedol and seaweed spray together, what ratio would you use of each in that nap sack. Will save me loads of time if thats how you do it. I have a 20 or 5lt spayers. Many thanks Chris

Hi Chris, I've not tried weedol with seaweed yet but have used seaweed and weedkiller together for years at usual rates. It usually doesn't stop the action of killing most weeds but if you find some difficult weeds aren't going then reduce or remove the seaweed. It's usually ok in most cased

Did you find the loop for storing the rocker/pump arm impossible to use because of the arm being to close or the loop to long?

Hi I never really use it I just leave the pump arm in the down position
