How to set up VIGI PoE Network Video Recorder (Use NVR1104H-4P as an example)

Do you have to have a HDD installed? I want to be able to have no HDD installed and then have it record to a directory in my Synology NAS across the network. Is that possible?

sounds like a good idea..but as most consumers might not have Nas...we may have to use hdd anyways
