How to set up your flexible shaft and drain cleaning chain kit

I am looking for a way to cute through palm tree roots in a 3" poly pipe. I like idea of flex pipe but really need some kind of cutting drill on the front but something to keep the drill centered so it does not cut into the soft side of the poly pipe. Any option for that?

I recommend the plain chain knocker with a drill head and without hard metal tips. plumber-tools.com/products/Plain-Chain-Knocker-with-drill-head-p417172560 This is made specifically for PVC. Be cautious when using this tool though because the centrifugal force will hold the chain centre, but when the shaft spins through a PVC corner (elbow) the drill head would damage the PVC. Only engage the engine when the shaft is in a straight section of pipe.
