Excellent video Sam, If I was starting out these days, I would have definitely got one of those starter kits. Fair play to you. For people who are getting into it now, this is exactly what they need to get started.

A (technical) word about scales: The 3 important specifications are: 1) *Resolution.* This is the same as digits past the decimal point. Otherwise called precision. 2) *Capacity.* This is the maximum weight that the scale can be loaded at without damage.Typically scales can be overloaded somewhat, but do so with caution. 3) *Accuracy.* This value reflects how close the scale will measure compared to a known standard. Typically expressed as ±X%, meaning the scale will display a value that is the correct weight within a specified percentage of the measured value.

You nailed it about the 3 metric decimal places. Some scales only go 2 decimals metric, but 3 decimals imperial (oz). Important to go as sensitive as you can with a max of +/- 0.001 g/mL sensitivity. As for the racks...I'd feel much safer with a little lip along the edge of the desk! 😅 Just as a precaution, you know. A manipulatable/swingable tablet holder that anchors to the floor and not the desk (so it doesn't move when you bump the counter) wouldn't go amiss either! I find the boom arms more stable than a gooseneck myself. I even put a 25 lbs barbell weight on the base of mine just to be sure. 😁 Voice commands on a tablet free up the hands anyway. Loved the vid Sam! 👍

I hope you see this, how much essential oils is recommended for a 16OZ bottle? I'm trying to make a big batch but cant find any concrete information. Would 1.7 ounces of essential oil work for a 16 OZ bottle?

I have a similar amount I find the best way for me to set up alphabetically and when ordering materials I also label the odour descriptions on each bottle. I also use Storage Organizer Bins they are useful as you can stack over each other without the risk of ever falling. My work station is my desk with spacious rows of shelves.

The raw materials slowly evaporate through the rubber tops over time. If there was a good solution which was more eco friendly I’d advocate that instead but I haven’t ever come across one

Hello, great video really enjoyed it. As someone who grows more and more interested in perfumery; I think it would be great if you made a video (or series of videos) explaining how to start perfumery as a beginner. Perhaps even a paid course, just something that could be a resource إن شاء الله. Btw if anyone has any tips/recommendations for me as I am a complete beginner who wants to pursue perfumery; I’d appreciate it.

I use either The Fragrance Foundry one from the video or my old Kern one from long before we got those made. Mostly whichever is on hand although have a slight preference for the Kern one for speed whereas The Fragrance Foundry one is better for larger amounts, it also has the wall pug which is nice.

I have never organized my bottles in my life and have had to keep looking for the right ingredient and dilution by the traditional method of picking it up one by one and seeing if its the right one. Your method should fix that issue, but I predict it to be a pain to do 😢 Oh and if you are going to buy a scale when starting out, the jewelery scale is much better than a kitchen scale, much more responsive.😊

Poland is being screwed over on steam when it comes to localised prices and it is no different in your app. How come US is $40 and in Poland it’s $51. I wonder if Switzerland and Nordics are cheaper here too, don’t get me wrong, I’m all in for supporting but having one of the highest prices when it comes to localised prices is making me refuse to pay. Poles were boycotting steam and it did work to some degree, we do not earn more than Americans/Brits/Germans and Scandies to pay more for same service
@sammacer6 ай бұрын
Very interesting, I never knew anything about that - price rounding is done automatically by Shopify to allow people to pay in local currencies so it will be down to their algorithm. However, you do not have to pay in local currency on The Fragrance Foundry - you can scroll to the bottom of the website and change it to United Kingdom and pay in GBP. Since this is the base currency before rounding it will always be the cheapest way to pay.

Funny you say that Sarah - I always used to use the term dilution too; it was another fragrance KZbinr I heard saying “pre dilution”, and despite also thinking “that’s wrong” I liked the way that it distinguishes it into a memorable perfumery specific concept which I felt was helpful for beginners. I started using the terms interchangeably and now it all comes down to the weather and which side of bed I get out of in the morning…
