Is that enough space to hang iv on pole to pump at head

CCT RN here, you should NOT draw up medications (i.e. vasopressors, sedatives) out of their IV bottles/bags and run them via syringes -- that's not a standard practice. Also, the mini-medsystem 3's are horrible IV pumps. I understand that they were what was used, but they should be transitioned away from.

The fact that you preface your comment with “CCT RN here” and no real support studies tells me plenty. Syringes allow minimal down time off the pump as opposed to you flushing your IV sets, in addition manufacturers guidelines for this pump allow syringe 20-60ml use. Please provide some studies for your concerns. These Alaris Pumps are used by U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation flight critical care air transport team (CCATT), they are not horrible pumps. Perhaps you should watch my videos and read manufacturer instructors and learn how to use them properly.
