As always, I'm hoping to work through a second draft of a novel draft I finished a few years ago. There are chapters that need to be cut, new chapters to write to fix the story trajectory, dialogue and action to be punched up, characters to finish fleshing out. An endless list of things that I hope to break down into reasonable chunks. I also want to read more fiction. I managed to read 17 books last year despite reading nothing for several months when work got busy. When I'm reading, I write better, so I'm aiming for two average sized novels per month. I have a website that needs attention, too. When I'm stumped on my revisions or have writer's block, I should be dabbling over there. Thanks for the tips and encouragement!

I set too many goals at the beginning of 2018, about 8 different goals. I only reached two, but those are the ones that count the most. 1. I finished drafting my first novel in a foreign language (English) and took my driving license, beating my innate fear of the road. I then achieved goals that I hadn't set, like saving more money than the previous year. Money to invest on my writing projects. In 2019, I want to:1. Finish editing my novel and start pitching agents.2. Outline the sequel to it.3. Build a money-making website.I think those are enough for one year.

Yes! It's such a good idea to review old goals and figure out why you did or did not achieve them.

I was successful in growing my pusheen plush collection in 2018, from 28 in 2017 to 72 😂 That is why for 2019 my new year's resolution is to make more money through additional income streams (passive) and save more money. Writing has been a hobby that I neglected in the past three years and I plan to start again. As well as learning how to draw chibi characters/caricatures. I also got a new sony mirrorless camera last Christmas, so another goal is to learn the basics and improve. I plan to continue my other hobbies include adult coloring books, polymer clay, resin crafts, doll houses 😅 Maybe I should document them in a blog lol

I just want to finish the book I've stated during NaNoWriMo and finish outlining a book I've been working on since the beginning of 2018.

I try my best not to set goals for anything. It just adds too much stress. :)

I should set the time line and deadlines. I really should plan more too. I'm just too lazy and too stupid. "Should" is a big word. I think set tough goals as long as you can control the output. But if your goal is governed by the flow of creativity, then that might not be a great plan. I want to write three pages a day, then I get stumped and can't think, then I read the prose and it's all just shit so I get disheartened because the job now is too great. But if you're all set and have planned and know exactly what to do, then "Bite off more than you can chew and chew like hell."

This will be my first goal for 2019 for I am not organized at all when it comes to writing. I am writing my 6th Draft, taking classes on how to be a more Creative Writer and Time is not essentially any more for there are now House Chores to be done. At www.shewrites.com they were very helpful in giving out 52 Things for Writers Written by Brooke and Grant. This website is very helpful for people that are always putting things off. Thank You for your advice and hope to see you next year with a full written book and Script Manuscript.
