sir, I have my static ip. My static ip is assinged with my ONU. I recently reset my tp link router. So when I configure my router it shows different type of ip. I want to know that,, can I use the same ip which was used in ONU??? Will the static IP used in ONU and in my TP link router be the same?

I wanted to make a linux web server in my home. So a static public ip is needed for that server to publish my contents publicly. If i do as well as you say and restart the router isn't the server public ip will change ?

WAN IP can not be within the same subnet as LAN IP

So basically what this guy did was set his modem to act as a router and made the router seem as if it’s a “connected device” to the modem. If you’re able access modem, you shouldn’t do this. It would probably be a security risk. Not only that but it also doesn’t give you a “static ip”. It will give you an internal static ip for the router relative to the modem but it’s also pointless.
