Are you able to use clippers or spring clamps on the top bars to hang wallpapers or are the bars to thick ?

What are the dimensions of the panels? I bought the kit for the double crossbar stand and I absolutely love it. I want to go into learning and doing the draping to utilize the second bar.Thank you for sharing and teaching us. :)
