What kind of microphone do you have? You might need to turn on 48v to get it to work

Maybe the settings on your focusrite software isn't on the correct settings, turn the monitoring up on the device and you might be able to hear sound through your headphones

I have a focusrite clarett 2pre usb audio interface...I use a Rode NT1 mic ...I notice that I really have to turn the preamp knob to almost 100% to get a workable gain from my mic ..the signal seems to be very low...could anything be wrong with the interface?

That's a good question. Both are great. I've had both a saffire and a clarret. I chose the clarrett simply because of the size. Both sound great, I love my clarrett more than I loved my saffire

Wow, this video is infuriating. Just got my Clarett to replace my Scarlett. Uninstalled the Scarlett, plugged up the Clarett and got drivers and software installed. Now it isn't working right out of my monitors. But your video doesn't address literally anything AT ALL about the software or how it interfaces with Windows outside of the daw. Good job man. Waste of time.
