Hello. You’re video tutorials are great - sadly, I find the Karta tutorials spectacularly unhelpful…..maybe I just don’t learn that way. With this video on setting up an email, I wonder how you add the contact person’s name? I sent a ‘test email’ to myself and there was no….’Hello Wayne’ salutation….do you have a video that shows how to link that or set it up? thanks, again. Wayne

I don't have a video about that piece but here's how you can add in a name field: When you're in the email editor, click on Dynamic Variables on the left hand side. The first one will be the First Name and it'll say {first_name} under that. That "{first_name}" is the dynamic field, which you can just highlight, copy, and paste into your email in the spot you want their name to show up. (Eg, your email would be written as "Hi {first_name}, Welcome to...") Word of caution: If you happen to have contacts that, for whatever reason, have 'Anonymous' as their name in the databse, this is also what will come up when you use the {first_name} field. In these cases, it's best to avoid using the field. Hope that helps!

@@scaleandsimplify This is wonderful help. Thank you. I guess it’s supposed to be ‘intuitive’ that someone would highlight.copy/paste these elements into the email….but…it’s not. Sadly the tech field that sets up Kartra, Kijabi etc in general seem to substitute ‘lazy’ for ‘intuitive’. Thanks, again. :-)

you have a 3 minute section called dynamic variables, where you didn't explain anything about dynamic variables

Looks like the section was mislabeled :) The dynamic variables are simply copied from that left-hand menu and pasted into your email when you want to pull in lead-specific information that you have on file (such as their name).
