How to Setup AMP using CQG Data Feed on Sierra Chart & Place Orders

In this video I am going to talk about connecting our brand new AMP Futures account to CQG data feed inside Sierra Chart. Also how to use the DOM to place orders in Sierra Chart.

Hi, thanks for the video. I want to ask you how you are doing with the CQG datefee in Sierra Chart? Sierra Chart does not recommend using CQG, as I have read, because much of the data is disconnected. How are you doing with CQG? Thanks for your help.

Hey Julian. Sorry for the delay. I have never had an issue with CQG in Sierra chart. Rithmic on the other hand is absolutely terrible disconnecting all the time

Hey I´am from Germany and about to open a live account, I was practiced with the NT 8 Demo, but many are higherly recommending AMP with the Sierra Chart. So, I wanted to ask if there's any major difference between those? And would it be possible to open an account on AMP, while trading with the NT? Bc now I got really used to it. This video was otherwise really helpful, thanks for that!

Hi Alex! No problem at all. Sierra Chart is a great option to hook your AMP account up to. But you can definitely use a Rithmic data connection to hook up your AMP account to NT. You just have to create a new data connection with your login credentials.

You should get paid by Sierra charts for making these videos. I get they are fairly low cost but they could save a ton of time answering emails and forum support questions if they just made some videos explaining how to do a few things. I see Sierra Charts is now supporting back end order routing directly to the clearing house like Dorman Capital and Philips as well as others. Look really complicated to setup from what I found after reading for an hour of support questions is once you setup this back end service directly to the clearing house you can't trade any longer though the introducing broker like Tradovate, or AMP.

Hey I don’t think it’s possible at least straightforward to get the full order book with CQG. The easiest solution is to use Rithmic

Hi Nakata. You should see the "Platform Setup" tab after you login into AMP here application.ampclearing.com/account/login.aspx . You don't see it? Could be that you need to deposit some money first like you said

This is AWESOME, since AMP absolutely SUX at showing what to do after signing up. What is the "Live Trading Setup - Cash Index Data"? I'm trying to look up what this is and can't find it anywhere. (I mean - they can't even have a frikkin simple tooltip question mark?!). I already have a bad impression of AMP from this - but we'll see... If I could ever finish setting this stuff up!

Yes I think that is possible, but I'm not sure why you would want to trade with a 15 second chart :)

@@BrianWeber cause I see short term price pattern better for entries on NASDAQ futures. This is for fast moving markets, for slower like S&P you may want 2min. It depends on the market transaction speeds. NASDAQ is fully electronic, you can go up to 4 sec resolution (where trading robots operate, though it's getting unhumanly fast there)

@@BrianWeber Also 15 sec on NASDAQ is a substitute for a tick chart. On slower markets many traders watch a single tick charts, but on NASDAQ single tick chart moves so rapidly it is impossible to watch, so 15 sec is a sorta equivalent. You can go with multiple ticks chart, but I prefer fixed time in seconds
