Finaly a video that actually explains some of the features. I have used one now for a few years, and I never saw anyone use and explain how external pedals can work for you. Plus, I fight the looped volume being to loud for the melodys being played with the loop. It looks like a volume pedal is in order. Thank you!

Wow. I've been looking at so many videos lately about the Boss loopers... but, so far, this one is absolutely THE very best, notably for explaining all the hardware as much as it does. Yes, even without any music. Yeah, this fellow is a GREAT player, but thanks SO much for taking the time to actually *verbalize* all this. Invaluable in making a decision as to which RC to buy.

Hello there!! First of all, thanks for the tutorial, really helpful. But I have a problem with the expression pedal and I don't know how to solve it. when I set the pedal to control the patch volume it works but it doesn't turn the volume all the way down. I checked the settings and the min. volume is set to 0 and the max. volume is set to 100. the max. volume works perfect but the min. volume doesn't goes totally off, I still have about 15/20 % of the volume. The pedal I have is the Boss EV-5 and yes I turned also the min. volume of the knob of that pedal to 0, but the min. volume still doesn't goes totally off. Did someone came across this same problem? I really apreciate any help. I don't know what else to do. Thanks a lot!!

Hey there Thanks for your work... I have a rc50 but can't see the tap tempo button so cannot at the moment use the pedal because when I go to make a loop on playback there's a quiet section to go along with an apparent click track... I'd really like some insight on how to fix that

EXCELLENT DEMO!!! which do you think is better, RC-50 or the RC-300 and how many times can one loop/overdub on just that one track? Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi, is possible to have a click output completely separate from the loop even in recording?
@JohnGilliat3 жыл бұрын
yes you can however it's been years since I've used the rc50. I believe the way you would do it is to have your loops going out the main output and have a drum track going out the sub output with the loops. I would then use the sub output to my in-ear monitor and people would only hear the main output. that's the way I do it now with the RC 300 but I believe I was doing the same thing with the rc50.

Is it possible on the RC50 or RC300 to set the number of loops while overdubbing? For example if you wanted to play a round (like row row row your boat), you could set it to play each loop 3 times, and just keep overdubbing through the whole piece?

Good video man :) Have you found using this at gigs that you need to get down and use your fingers to change certain settings throughout the gig? Also if you use the external pedal to mute the loop whilst doing another part of the song, but you don't have the click in your IEM's, is there another way to keep track of the beat (etc a light flashing on the module so you don't lose the tempo)?

Hi John Excellent tutorial. Thank you. Maybe you have an idea if the RC-50 can do what I'm hoping. (I can't find this info anywhere) I would like to record a chorus, then sing an unrecorded verse, then play the recorded chorus, and overdub a harmony on it simultaneously….. Hit OVERDUB, record chorus, hit STOP, (no playback) sing a verse, Then hit OVERDUB again to play the chorus and record a harmony. At present I hit overdub twice. It works but I miss harmonizing on the first word. Plus it's just not smooth. Any ideas? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanx Daniel
@robbhorton10 жыл бұрын
You need a Digitech Vocalist 5 or something similar for that, instead of a loop station. It is great for harmonizing on the fly in a live situation.
@ScottHogue10 жыл бұрын
Robb Horton I agree with you, but I might suggest using the Vocalist in conjunction with the RC-50. I use a live4 with mine. It also submixes the guitar and vocals, so it frees up an extra channel on the 50.

I'm going to watch all of your video but I'm going to ask anyway. I hope you don't mind. But some people have figured out how to root effects pedal to individual patches you know, how to do that please? Any help would be thoroughly appreciated. And I use boss tr-09 works perfectly with no tweaking and is perfectly in time. It's so good to be able to save a phrase not recorder drum pattern! Brilliant. But the tr8 definitely doesn't work because, it sends information back to whatever you've got it plugged into and it messes with the RC 50. But it's really weird because I thought if I plugged in tr-09, then used it to control another drum machine they would still be in time. Simply doesn't work. Definitely designed it to only work with boss and Roland drum machines. Bit dodge, but oh well. Because I wanted to use my Tom Kat, I've got about 5 drum machines so yeah as well. I also normally route my RC 50 through and rc2, so I can resample my loop, and keep it going while I set up a new one. Great trick! Lol Gas Gas Gas. Just wondering if you've tried or got the RC 300 please. I'm just worried one day at might die and I have to get another one. Meh. Because I really need a Looper, I don't have a lot of musicians to play with so it help me be a one-man band.

Hello. I am interested in your loop station. I had one of those few years ago and i sold it because i thought there is a problem with it but now I am thinking about repurchase it. Could you answer my question please? I will describe you the way how I record everything: - Pressing Phrase 1 and hit record button( recording some bass line with drums)and pressing the same record button to stop recording so I have loop on Phrase 1. -Then I press Phrase 2 and hit the record button again (recording some guitar arpeggios) and pressing the same record button to stop my second phrase. So now is the problem when the two loops are playing (Phrase 1 and Phrase 2) simultaneously the loop on the Pharse 2 has a half a second gap (brake) exactly in the moment I previously pressed record button when I recorded it. I Is the one does the same? I would like to know if I had malfunctioned one or the all RC 50 do the same?

Hi Marcin, It's been years now since I've used a RC50. I currently own the RC300 but not looping with it anymore. I've been just using it as a sampler. Sorry but I don't have an answer for you. You may have to check it with someone in the tech support dept. at Roland.

Hey there! Im planning to get this board. But I have some questions about it - hope you will answer. I'm having standard arrangements containing up to 3 different different guitar tracks ( each of them with different sound ) I'm not planning to record them live, but just using the board as a kind of "bank" where I have stored all my (from home) recorded guitar tracks. Thereby im intending to use the board as a "guitar backing track board/ switch" and not as much a live looping/ recording devise. - My question is - will this board be good for this job? Also is it possible to like store these pre-recorded takes under a "patch" name or number so that I can navigate though my set with pre recorded material? Or is there only one option? - Really hope you get me?! - Thanks!
