Thank you, this was the most clear tutorial I’ve seen after a few days of looking on how to handle dado stacks for the first time - especially where I was needing multiple chippers. Too many creators tend to just show the outer blades and one chipper. Thanks again!

You are welcome, thanks for watching.

Thanks you for this. I was having issues with the outer blades turning when tightening. Instead of using my fingers to prevent this, I instead used a small clamp with just enough pressure to prevent turning. Works well and I feel my setup is safer now.

When one of your blades in the dado stack is inside the sacrificial fence isn't this going to affect the quality of the crosscut dado? Won't the chippers be doing some of the cutting that the saw blade should do? Maybe this is why you run the stock through twice ? I don't get it.......help. Thank you

The blade closest to the fence is not tucked into the relief the entire width of the blade. It is tucked under about a 32nd of an inch. Just enough to remove the paper thin piece of wood that would be left if your blade was not pressed against the fence. The chippers only have two teeth. They are not clean cutters. This is why 2 passes cleans up better. Thanks for watching.

Great video. My dado stack is also too close to the level handle of the riving knife and when I push it up it hits the plate so I wonder how high were you able to bring the dado out before it started to push on the plate?
@detroitdiy3 жыл бұрын
I will gladly measure it for you, if you have alot of dato work to do it is not hard to remove the riving knife latch to be able to raise it higher. On reinstall however riving knife will have to be squared to blade again.

Actually I was able to run it. End up with about 1" passed the plate without hitting it. So I guess that will be the only limitation on my depth cuts
