So excited to pick one of these machines up. Ive been 3d printing for years but this will help me take my manufacturing to the next level.

Great to hear! Please note that we have a price increase at the end of this month.

@@Makera unfortunately as of the moment I've decided to hold off on this due to the spindle power. I did some practice CAD setup with it and realized it would take many hours just to rough out a small part in aluminum. If you could demonstrate it quickly cutting through aluminum (with feeds, speeds, depth of cut, and step over listed), that might convince me to purchase. If not, it's ok, it's just not meant for that type of work.

Great video! Would love to see a follow-up on how to setup and use the the 4th axis with Fusion 360.

That's a cool Can even beginners easily operate it? Is it possible to ship overseas as well?
@Makera7 ай бұрын
With a little bit of training on general machining practices, this machine is easy to use, even for beginners.

Thanks for the video. Is it maybe possible to do a tutorial on the 4th axis using fusion 360?

Hi there, I´m having trouble uploading the carvera profile on my personal use fusion, it says file not found! Any idea what the problem might be? thank you! :)

Can you do a video on additive, subtractive manufacturing. If I had more time on my hands I would do this myself. Curious about the settings and testing to get the best results out of a FDM 3d print if you add a milling pass.
@Makera7 ай бұрын
Not sure why you would combine the 2 processes, Why not just use subtractive for the entire part? Or are you referring to the differences in the processes?

Does the carvera have the capabilities to be able to machine metals like silver or sterling silver? I have the carvera but am scared to try it out.
@Makera7 ай бұрын
Yes, it should work as they are generally soft metals, but just do some investigation into what tooling to use.

I am still not sure why its so much hand-work to get the toolpath's? it should be like a 3d-printer slicer. load model, tell machine, material, etc.. and which bits are available. boom, thats it :) I get the gcode and a list of tools I have to setup in which tool-position ;) hope the makera CAM will get us to this? =)
@Makera7 ай бұрын
100% agreed. Cam softwares are still quite tricky to master. But once you understand it, it is actually that easy. The makera CAM will not be this initially, but that is the goal.

is this using the standard paid version of fusion 360, or do i need one of the special extensions for true 4-axis milling?
@Makera9 ай бұрын
You can obtain Fusion 360 for personal use, but some features are not available. In this video, we show 2 & 3-axis milling which can be done in the personal use version. We recommend you visit Fusion 360's information page below to learn more about what features you are looking for: www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal/compare

I am having some issues getting the origin point correct based on this video. I followed the setup instructions where it looked like you had the setup origin in the top center and the part origin in the bottom left. I set the work origin in Carvera Controller to 50, 50 as shown in the video, and the machine probes the correct area. However, the first tool path starts running way off. It would be helpful if you could explain how to set the origin in fusion based on where the Carvera sets the xyz at anchor point 1. Thanks

This is a great question. We think its important to be able to adjust the offsets in the controller to correct any discrepancies in the CAM portion, but agree that setting it correctly in the CAM is ideal. Check out this Fusion tutorial for another way to do this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqPdi3xpltKrpNk&lc=UgwZJ4JNqePn_-LV-wN4AaABAg

Do these machines use linear rails or rods?
@Makera9 ай бұрын
The Carvera Desktop CNC uses ball screws with linear rails, and servo motors for the X/Y/Z axis.

Will it work on Mac?
@Makera2 ай бұрын
Yes, Fusion and the Carvera Controller are compatible with both PC and Mac computers. As is Makera CAM software

imagine paying like $6k and this is the result you get in aluminum. That is a lot of money.
